Hello to all the members of this community and lovers of street art! It's been a while since I brought photographs of murals or graffiti to show you, and it's not because there isn't art on the city streets, on the contrary... There is a lot of street art! However, there are many places that I still don't dare to go to, not to mention that I have spent a long time locked up at home, only going out to specific places (Could this be considered a kind of "street blockade"?). However, with great happiness, I join the round #271 with an unexpected graffiti that I found not far from where I live.

I must admit I'd seen this mural months ago while passing by... but I couldn't remember exactly where, so I completely forgot about it until a couple of days ago, when I decided to walk down a different street and stumbled upon it. I quickly pulled out my phone and took the opportunity to photograph it before any pedestrians or vehicles arrived.

Unfortunately, the effects of time have greatly affected the mural, to the point that parts of it are incomprehensible. There are some written phrases, but the only one I could clearly read was "Life in the human species." In the drawing, you can see what appears to be a girl drinking water, with the city in the background. What's curious is the drawing of the three-eyed fish, which appears in The Simpsons. In the series, the fish is always swimming in waters with radioactive waste, and because of this, its eyes mutate. This suggests that the mural is talking about the contamination present in the water and more, because it appears to be coming out of a sewer pipe.

And I completely agree with this fact, since many times, the water from the pipes has not only been dark in color but also has a foul odor, and people have even gotten sick months ago from the same thing. Not to mention that nearby is a river known as the city's sewer. Therefore, I think it's a somewhat sad mural, as it depicts the reality of city dwellers' daily lives.

Still, I'm glad I photographed it before it completely faded. I hope the problem of water purification and better treatment is solved in the city in the future, and that no one is negatively affected by drinking contaminated water while this happens 🙃

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes del arte callejero! Tenía un tiempo sin traer fotografías de murales o grafitis para mostrarles y no es porque no haya arte en las calles de la ciudad, al contrario... ¡Hay mucho arte callejero! Sin embargo, existen muchos lugares a los cuales aún no me atrevo a llegarme, sin mencionar que he pasado una larga temporada encerrada en casa, saliendo solamente a sitios puntuales (¿Podría considerarse esto como una especie de "bloqueo callejero"?). Sin embargo, con mucha felicidad, me sumo a la ronda #271 con un inesperado grafiti que encontré no muy lejos de donde vivo.

Debo admitir que ya había visto éste mural meses atrás, mientras iba de paso... pero no recordaba específicamente donde, así que me olvidé por completo de él, hasta que hace un par de días atrás, decidí caminar por una calle diferente y me lo topé. Rápidamente saqué mi teléfono y aproveché de fotografiarlo antes de que llegasen transeúntes o algún vehículo.

Lamentablemente, la acción del tiempo ha afectado mucho al mural, hasta el punto de que hay partes del mismo que no se entienden. Hay algunas frases escritas, pero la única que pude leer bien fue "La vida en la especie humana". En el dibujo, se ve lo que parece ser una niña bebiendo agua, con la ciudad de fondo. Lo curioso, es el dibujo del pez con tres ojos, el cual sale en Los Simpson. En la serie, el pez siempre se encuentra nadando en las aguas con residuos radioactivos y por eso, sufre esa mutación en sus ojos; lo cual, nos da a entender que el mural, habla acerca de la contaminación presente en las aguas y más, porque parece estar saliendo de tubo de alcantarilla.

Y estoy muy de acuerdo con este hecho, ya que muchas veces, el agua de las tuberías ha llegado no solamente de un color oscuro, sino con mal olor e inclusive, personas se enfermaron meses atrás por lo mismo; sin mencionar que cerca, se encuentra un río conocido por ser el desagüe de la ciudad. Por ello, pienso que se trata de un mural un poco triste, pues muestra la realidad que vive diariamente el citadino.

Aún así, me alegra de haberlo fotografiado antes de que termine de desdibujarse. Espero que el problema de potabilización de las aguas y un mejor tratamiento de las mismas, sea solucionado en un futuro en la ciudad y que nadie salga afectado negativamente por un consumo de agua contaminada mientras que eso ocurre 🙃
