ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to all members of this community and lovers of events inspired by Japan! Almost 20 days ago I had the opportunity to go to a Japanese Traditional Art Festival and there, I found out that the Matsuri was going to take place, a larger festival that would take place in the Plaza Sur de Altamira (Caracas Venezuela). It took place last Saturday, November 23rd, and although I was not there from beginning to end, I will tell you about my little experience.

I usually like to wear an outfit that matches the events I attend, and if I don't have one, I can even have one made. But, since I didn't have the chance to sew a yukata or a kimono (since I was originally going to attend another activity that day, until it was cancelled), I chose to wear a Chinese-style dress, which I showed in my previous post 😉

When I arrived at the plaza, I was greeted by the sounds of the Japanese drum, from the group Caracas Taiko Dojo. They were just finishing up their set, but from what little I was able to witness, I felt pretty energized. I mentioned at the last event how much I liked the sound of these drums, so it was pretty nice to have the chance to hear them live again.

I immediately began to walk around the stands, as there were several that I had not seen at the last event, such as the one for calligraphy, one for a traditional Japanese board game, and one where there were games like those found at festivals of this type, such as trying to catch some little fish with a net and other games of chance.

IMG_20241123_134116.jpgIMG_20241123_134050.jpg

There were also stands selling crafts, Asian-style clothing and even origami art.

As expected, the stands selling anime merchandise and other Asian products that are usually found at anime events and bazaars also made an appearance. There were so many cute things that it was hard to choose just one thing. Luckily, I didn't buy anything because I would have suffered having to choose 😆

I was not able to see the Karate presentation, but I did see a bit of the one from the Capital District Sumo Association. The presenter explained to the audience what the martial art consisted of and the members of the association demonstrated some of the rituals and movements used during the fights.

The food stands were a must. I was tempted to try the Takoyakis, which are dough balls filled with octopus... but I didn't dare to do it 😆 But the smell in that area was delicious 🤤

IMG_20241123_130433.jpgIMG_20241123_130334.jpgIMG_20241123_130250.jpg

And of course, in this kind of events you can't miss the cosplay, so I tried to take the ones I found, although it was a bit difficult because the square was quite crowded and the sun's rays were merciless 😅 There were several girls with yukatas and that encouraged me to want to sew one for my personal use 😳

The festival was supposed to end around 8pm, but unfortunately I had to leave much earlier than that 🙃 I would have liked to stay until the end, but that day I was feeling very tired and decided to go home. Still, I enjoyed the little time I was able to stay and I have been encouraged to continue going to any type of cultural event that takes place in the city, not only do you have fun, but you also learn a little about other countries 😊

IMG_20241123_130710.jpgIMG_20241123_130802.jpgIMG_20241123_130833.jpg
IMG_20241123_130646.jpgIMG_20241123_131236.jpgIMG_20241123_131259.jpg
IMG_20241123_131339.jpgIMG_20241123_131408.jpgIMG_20241123_131545.jpg
IMG_20241123_131713.jpgIMG_20241123_131655.jpgIMG_20241123_131211.jpg

IMG_20241123_130528.jpgIMG_20241123_130549.jpgIMG_20241123_131003.jpg
IMG_20241123_145329.jpgIMG_20241123_144851.jpgIMG_20241123_145558.jpg
IMG_20241123_143945.jpgIMG_20241123_144006.jpgIMG_20241123_144309.jpg

Yes, that's why I love going! You get the chance to see and buy nice things, as well as get information about something that catches your eye and even meet people with the same tastes as you 😌 I was also tempted to play catch the little fish, but the stand was always full and knowing my luck, I'm sure I wouldn't win anything 😆 I would have liked to stay until night to see how the place looked lit up, but oh well... it will be for another time 🙃 Thank you very much for visiting my post and for commenting 🤗💚
