Hello everyone in this community! Last weekend I was once again selling at a market stall, this time in the gardens of the Science Museum in Caracas, Venezuela, in celebration of International Knit in Public Day. I was surprised to be invited to join the group of artisans, since I don't have any crocheted items per se, although most of my creations are made of fabric, so I suppose they fall under the "knitting" category, haha. Anyway, I'm learning to crochet, but I'm still a beginner, so I hope to improve so I can offer products made with this beautiful technique ✨

As expected, I got to work as soon as I received the invitation, since I had sold some products last time and wanted to make some new ones. I managed to have new creations to offer, and I also took the opportunity to wear a cosplay I had only worn once since it was made, about two years ago, haha. Both the cosplay I wore the first day and the Lolita-style outfit I wore the next day were a hit, because people took pictures of me. As for sales, they weren't great, but one of the negative factors was that payday for workers was a few days later, so it was natural that people were managing their money as carefully as possible, haha. However, I received nice comments about my products, words of encouragement, and good wishes for my business, and that's part of the reward, because it motivates me to keep working hard on my business ✨

As for the other artisans, most of them were expert weavers—it was beautiful! Their gorgeous creations caught the eye of passersby, and rightly so. Some of the weavers even started working on their projects. I had thought about doing the same... but since I'm a beginner, I'm incapable of weaving without a video tutorial, haha. Not to mention that I'm usually busy doing something, so I take advantage of any free time when I leave the house. It was the best thing for me to simply enjoy watching what was happening and interacting with the public. Although I ended up sketching a bit, haha, which is good; sketching helps me relax.

Among the activities they organized was a knitting gathering, open to anyone who wanted to participate. I don't know what they did since I was a bit removed from the main area; in fact, there were other artisans on that side. But since I was alone at my stand, I didn't feel like leaving it unattended, as I knew I'd get distracted and if I stayed away for too long, I might lose a sale, haha. But oh well, I'll take advantage of those kinds of activities another time, since I've seen that they hold public knitting events every so often through social media.

And that was my experience at my most recent bazaar or flea market. As I mentioned, sales weren't as successful as last time, but I was able to chat with some nice people and receive words of encouragement that truly lift the spirits. Because when you're locked away in a workshop all the time, creating, and on top of that, you're insecure, it's natural for negative thoughts about what you do to creep in, haha. But anyway, I hope things will improve in the future, not only for me but for everyone who strives every day to achieve their dreams 💚 For now, a crafty fairy bids you farewell 🧚✨

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad! El fin de semana pasado estuve una vez más como stand de venta en un mercadillo, el mismo se efectuó en los jardines del Museo de Ciencias de Caracas (Venezuela), en celebración al Día Internacional de Tejer en Público. Me sorprendió que me invitasen a formar parte del grupo de artesanos, ya que no tengo elementos tejidos en crochet como tal, aunque como la mayoría de mis creaciones son hechas de tela, supongo que entran en la categoría de "tejido" jaja como sea, estoy aprendiendo a tejer en crochet, pero aún soy principiante, así que espero mejorar en ello para poder ofrecer productos elaborados con esta técnica tan hermosa ✨

Como era de esperarse, me puse manos a la obra en cuanto recibí la invitación, ya que la vez pasada, había vendido algunos productos y deseaba hacer unos nuevos. Logré tener creaciones nuevas para ofrecer, así como también, aproveché para usar un cosplay que había usado una sola vez desde su fabricación, hace como dos años jaja Tanto el cosplay que llevé el primer día, como el outfit al estilo Lolita que usé al día siguiente, fueron un éxito, porque me tomaron fotografías. En cuanto a las ventas, no fueron muy buenas, pero uno de los factores negativos fue que el día de paga de los trabajadores estaba pautado para unos días después, por lo que era natural que las personas estuvieran administrando su dinero al máximo jaja No obstante, recibí comentarios agradables sobre mis productos, palabras de aliento y buenos deseos para mi emprendimiento y eso, es parte de las ganancias, pues me motivan a seguirme esforzando en mi negocio ✨

En cuanto al resto de los artesanos, fueron invitados en su mayoría expertos en tejido ¡Una belleza! Las hermosas creaciones llamaban la atención de los que transitaban por esa zona y no era para menos. También, algunas tejedoras se pusieron a continuar algún proyecto mientras tanto. Yo había pensando en hacer lo mismo... pero como soy principiante, soy incapaz de tejer sin tener un video tutorial de apoyo jaja sin mencionar que la mayoría del tiempo me encuentro ocupada haciendo algo, así que aprovecho de descansar mentalmente cuando salgo de casa, por lo que fue lo más adecuado para mí, simplemente disfrutar de observar lo que ocurría y atender al público. Aunque al final acabé dibujando un poco jaja eso es bueno, bocetear me ayuda a relajarme.

Entre las actividades que realizaron, estuvo la de una reunión de tejido, para cualquiera que desease participar. No sé que hicieron ya que estaba apartada de la zona en la que se efectuó, de hecho, habían más artesanos de ese lado, pero como estaba sola en mi stand, no me animaba a dejar el puesto solo, ya que sabía que me iba a distraer y si me quedaba lejos muy mucho tiempo, podría perder una venta jaja pero bueno, en otra oportunidad aprovecharé ese tipo de actividades, ya que he visto que cada cierto tiempo hacen convocatorias de tejidos en público, a través de las redes sociales.

Y esa fue mi experiencia de mi más reciente participación en un bazar o mercadillo. Como comenté, las ventas no fueron tan exitosas como la vez pasada, pero pude conversar con gente agradable y recibir palabras de motivación que realmente, ayudan al alma, porque cuando estas todo el tiempo encerrado en un taller, creando y de paso, eres inseguro, es natural que aparezcan los pensamientos negativos sobre lo que haces jaja Pero bueno, espero que más adelante, las cosas mejoren no sólo para mí, sino para todo aquel que se esfuerza cada día para cumplir sus sueños 💚 Por los momentos, se despide un hada artesana🧚✨
