Hello to all the members of this community and art lovers! This time I'm here to show you some of the photographs I took during my first visit to the Los Palos Grandes Library, located in Caracas, Venezuela. I came across this small exhibition when I went to see the Japanese calendars that were displayed there, through one of the movements on behalf of the Japanese Embassy in Caracas. So I didn't expect to find another exhibition at the same time. It's really fascinating when you find something other than what you went to see initially. That's why I'm always looking forward to it when I go to a new place.

Although I wasn't able to venture out to fully explore the library (that's a visit I'd like to make when I have more time). As I headed to the room where the Japanese calendars were placed, I looked at the walls and that's when I saw it, an exhibition by Zobeida Guzmán, which consisted of works done with watercolor and I think china ink.

These drawings caught my attention because, despite their simple appearance, the salient theme was femininity, and the artist's strokes were very subtle, making them quite pleasing to the eye. From what I was able to see, these drawings have been on display since March 8th, during International Women's Day. Various types of events and art exhibitions were held in the city during that time. Although I wasn't able to attend all of them at the time, I'm pleased that several exhibitions remain open to the public to this day.

I found the watercolor works sublime. I don't know much about the use of this painting material, as I'm just starting out, but Zobeida's drawings filled me with a sense of well-being. At first, I thought they were pieces of printed fabric, but upon closer inspection, I realized they were watercolor drawings. They looked like maps, charts, landscapes, a wonderful contrast of emotions.

These kinds of exhibitions always motivate me to continue practicing and venture into expressing myself through any artistic movement that catches my attention. I wonder if at some point, one of my drawings might have a little corner somewhere to be contemplated. That's why I like to take my time when looking at the works; I think about the artist's creative process and imagine the entire process 😌

I also noticed that outside the library were some tables with chess sets, which told me that chess enthusiasts often gather there. It was quite early when I arrived, but I like to imagine that the place fills up in the afternoons. Chess players have always caught my attention because, despite how busy the world around them may be, they remain focused on their next move.

Thanks to social media, I learned that they often hold various exhibitions at that library. I hope to attend the next ones and, as I mentioned at the beginning, go sometime just to visit the part where the books are. It's been a long time since I've been to a library to do research or see what books are available. I think it would be a very relaxing activity and might motivate me to get back to reading physical books 📖✨

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes del arte! En esta ocasión vengo a mostrarles algunas de las fotografías que tomé durante mi primer recorrido a la Biblioteca Los palos Grandes, ubicada en Caracas - Venezuela. Me hallé con ésta pequeña exposición cuando fui a ver los calendarios japoneses que se hallaban allí dispuestos, por medio de uno de los movimientos de parte de la Embajada Japonesa de Caracas. Así que no me esperaba con que me encontraría con otra exposición al mismo tiempo. Es realmente fascinante cuando consigues algo aparte de lo que fuiste a ver inicialmente. Por eso, siempre estoy a la expectativa cuando me dirijo a un lugar nuevo.

Si bien no pude aventurarme a recorrer por completo la biblioteca (Esa es una visita que me gustaría hacer cuando tenga más tiempo). Mientras me dirigía al salón en donde se hallaban colocados los calendarios japoneses, me fijé en las paredes y ahí fue cuando lo vi, una exposición de Zobeida Guzmán, la cual se trataba de unas obras hechas con acuarela y creo que tinta china.

Me llamó mucho la atención ya que a pesar de lucir como unos dibujos sencillos, el tema resaltante era la feminidad y en los trazos de la artista, se notaba una gran sutileza, lo cual lo hacía bastante grato a la vista. Según pude examinar, estos dibujos encuentran expuestos desde el 8 de marzo durante la celebración del Día Internacional de la Mujer. Durante esa fecha en la ciudad se realizaron diferentes tipos de eventos y exposiciones artísticas. Aunque en su momento no pude asistir a todas, me alegra que varias exposiciones aún sigan a disposición del público hasta la fecha.

Los trabajos en acuarelas me parecieron sublimes. No sé mucho acerca del uso de este material de pintura, ya que apenas estoy comenzando a utilizar el mismo pero los dibujos de Zobeida me llenaron de una sensación de bienestar. Al principio pensé que se trataba de trocitos de tela estampada, Pero al acercarme pude comprobar que se trataban de dibujos hechos con acuarelas. Parecían mapas cartas paisajes, un maravilloso contraste de emociones.

Esta clase de exposiciones, siempre me motivan a continuar practicando y aventurarme a expresarme a través de cualquier movimiento artístico que me llame la atención. Me pregunto si en algún momento, alguno de mis dibujos podría tener un rinconcito en algún lugar para que fuesen contemplados. Por eso, me gusta tomarme mi tiempo a la hora de ver las obras, pienso en el proceso creativo del artista e imaginarme todo el proceso 😌

También me di cuenta de que en las afueras de la biblioteca, se encontraban algunas mesas con juegos de ajedrez, lo cual me indicó que allí se suelen reunir amantes de aquel juego. Para el momento en que yo llegué era bastante temprano pero me gusta imaginar que ese sitio se llena por las tardes. Los jugadores de ajedrez siempre me han llamado la atención, porque a pesar de lo ajetreado que pueda estar el mundo a su alrededor, los jugadores permanecen concentrados en su siguiente jugada.

Gracias a las redes sociales, me he enterado de que en esa biblioteca, suelen hacer diversas exposiciones. Espero poder asistir a las próximas y como comenté en un inicio, ir en alguna oportunidad simplemente a visitar la parte en dónde se encuentran los libros. Tengo muchísimo tiempo que no voy a una biblioteca a investigar o a ver que libros hay. Pienso que sería una actividad muy relajante y quizás me motive a retomar mi lectura de libros físicos 📖✨
