Dhaka is a strange city..

Hope everyone is well. My metropolis is Dhaka.

Dhaka is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. Even after independence, most of the Dhaka city was a low-lying area.

The population was not much, but in the span of fifty years, this city accommodated more than one crore people. Our capital is a prime example of traffic congestion, unplanned urbanization and overcrowding. At different times different governments have taken various steps to make this city a livable and well-planned city, but practically no results have been achieved. Rather, this city is becoming uninhabitable with time.

Despite all this, some of our brothers have become accustomed to living in this city. In fact, I'd say a bigger contributing factor than habit is necessity. Human needs forced him to survive in this city. Even though I have been to and from Dhaka city many times, I still could not get used to the environment of this city. So can never stay long continuously. There is nothing good about it all, but Bashundhara City is one of my favorite places to visit in this glittering city. Whenever I go to Kawran Bazar or Panthpath area, I visit here once. A few days ago I went to this Bashundhara city for a need. It is like another small city in the sparkling clean and organized city. Went mainly for shopping but ended up buying nothing. It was lunch time by the time we got around from the center. So I went to the food courts located on the seventh floor to fill my stomach.

Numerous eateries are spread over this floor. Italian, Indian, Chinese and other local dishes are available upon order. But there is no doubt that a hefty amount will come out of your pocket when it comes to prices. I sat down in a restaurant called Midnight Sun after seeing less crowd. And I ordered the roasted meat khichuri. You can see in the picture the food they served on the plate after sitting for about 30 minutes. The food was tasty enough but not too much in quantity. And the price is only 260 taka, which I think would have easily been between 150 to 200 taka if played from outside. Anyway, eating is not a big deal, it was nice to spend some time in a favorite place after a long time. Even a few years ago, this city had great facilities for rich people. Even if everything is found, there is no escape in just one place. Dhaka's road jam does not spare anyone, rich or poor.

Whether you use private car or public transport you have to sit for hours to reach the destination. This pain is unbearable especially during peak hours. Sometimes it takes several hours to cross only two or three kilometers of road.

A few days ago I read where someone said that no one likes to make bad comments about their own country but the reality cannot be denied in any way.

Maybe soon our beloved Dhaka city will become completely uninhabitable due to some terrible natural disaster or man-made. So we all should decentralize the city and take proper measures to sustain this city while there is still time...
