Thursday morning garden update for #POBphotocontest
Good day , this morning it was still cold in the garden and lot's of dewdrops to be found as you can see further down the post.
I was also glad to see that the caterpillar was still alive and growing.
Hopefully we can watch it grow into a butterfly one day.
The Papilio machaon caterpillar is starting to look more green, no idea how much longer it wil take until it turns in to a pupa .
The first post and second post about the Papilio machaon caterpillar are more then 2 weeks ago.
So these might be the last Photo's before it turns into a pupa.
Time for some flowers with dewdrops on them, the first one is a tiny rose in a heart shape with dew drops
Same tiny rose differen angle different development settings , always hard to pick the red tone you want.
Next one is a marigold flower bud with dew drops , [ hard to see because of the image resize of hive ]

Anemone flower petall with dew drops , you can see the drops and hairs on the petal
and finally the Xerochrysum bracteatum / strobloem , dewdrops on the flower bud , due to the low DOF it's not possible to get the whole flower bud in focus even on f8 .

People say you must have a realy big garden to be able to find all these subjects well truth is it really ain't that big .
the stones on the path way are 60*40 cm
I just planted one plant of each variety that i liked most are done flowering or didn't flower this year because of the draught.
But it's the difference in varieties that get's me so many insects in the garden for macro photography.
And i still want to plant something with more height either bamboo or some other grass or maybe a small tree i will decide in spring after the bulbs have flowerd.
That reminds me , i need to plant the bulbs i bought in the garden 🤣🤣

you do indeed but that is a different species ;) your butterfly is the Aglais urticae
this catter pillar will be like :

Amazing pictures all of them. You have garden with lots of wild flowers.. I don't but still I can find lots of insects and interesting small creatures.. Great post ☺️
thank you , i try to keep the garden partly wild and partly cultivated i even seed new madow flowers every year in between the cultivated ones.

My daughter ate the pringles back in +/- 2016 , i've been using that can ever since
Isn't it amazing to get that much play out of such a small space? I agree that you don't need a lot of garden area, just lots of different angles and a few different flowers. I have taken as such in a flower pot with three different plants in it. That actually was a cool way to do it too.
The drops are exquisite, especially on the marigold. I admit it, I love my drops and close-ups too. :)
i have about 60 different paranuals in there , flowering pots stand on the patio one filled with Mint so the wive always has fresh tea.
That's awesome. I have pots of catnip and spearmint on my porch.
You don't need to have a big backyard to shoot cool photos. Yours are the proof of that.
