Spring walk in the zoo
This afternoon i went with my wife to the local zoo , it was a nice sunny day so we brought the camera with us .
Today i brought the Sony a7IV camera and the Laowa 15mm F4.5 1:2 macro lens .
Not really the lens for animal photography , but good enough for some park photography .
1 ) one big yellow dafodill at the entrance of the zoo , arround it a lot of tulips that still need to flower

2 )young green leaves reaching for the sunlight in this low hedge

3 )one of the elepant statues near the elephants and the Japanese garden .

4 ) Anemone apennina / blue anemone i did plant these on my balcony but so far no flowers yet , and here in the zoo they are already flowering.

5 )The fountain in the lake is also working again , no more fear of frost damage.

6 )The Japanese garden entrance , no leaves yet on the Acer palmatum / Japanese maple but i won't take that long if the sune keeps showing up like this.

7 )The trees are getting ready to show the leaves again

8 )a small pond in the japanese garden , there should be some fish in it but I couldn't spot it.

9 ) Blossem on the tree , didn't look like cherry blossem

10 )statue of snake bird and eggs

11 )Scilla luciliae / Lucile's glory-of-the-snow never had seen these before

12 ) Walking towards the kitchen for the animals i spotted this large insect hotel.

13 )Inside the kitchen for the animals , you can see what they feed the animals and how they prepare it.

14 )They grow fresh insects for certain animals , like these grasshoppers

15 )but also these mealworms crawling around the cucumber

16 )And they also had a large amount of crickets

17 )Back outside looking where we should go next

18 )Another yellow sign of spring Forsythia × intermedia / border forsythia

19 ) Then we decided to go and visit the night animals quarters , they had these frogs in an aquarium they als were bussy with the spring 😀

20 ) Some shrubs already starting to show some fresh leaves

21 )Taking photos of pinquins with this lens might not be ideal , let's try some video instead.

V1 )I try to keep the videos short 30 seconds
22 )And then close to the exit of the zoo there are these prariedogs , they can actually walk between your legs if they wanted to so ideal to get up close , but they are still a bit shy .

V2 ) As you can see in the video

Frogs are great! And video! 👍
It's truly beautiful to see how the flowers herald the approach of spring, transforming the entire landscape with color.
What a privilege it was to be able to enter the area where the animals' food is prepared! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this tour!
Hugs!

The Laowa 15mm looks sharp in that first shot, great for capturing the daffodil details
