Spring walk in the forest
We went for our first forest walk here in the area since we moved here.
We parked our car here : https://maps.app.goo.gl/8GzPQcXZ4xX7qDKF8 google map is a bit behind and shows images from 2024 .
Today i used my Sony mobilphone and my Sony a6000 camera with the Helios 58mm lens . The wide angle photos are done with the smartphone the rest with
the a6000 camera .
While we walked towards the forest i saw these buttercups flowers :
the side road was not for free to enter for the public .
And if one sign doesn't seem te be enough just place a second one that will help ..
and once we found the legal way to enter the forest we where overwhelmed with the fresh spring green leaves on the trees.
fresh young beech leaves and some nice helios bokeh
The trees are verry tall and seem to be pretty old , more history van be found here : https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landgoed_Hoevelaken it's in Dutch but maybe google translate can help you with that .
on the ground there was a lot of Polygonatum multiflorum / Eurasian Solomon's seal they are known the be toxic.
further in the forest a variety of trees pine ,oak ,beech and berch
And on the ground growing on dead wood a nice mushroom , and it looks like some snails have been visiting.
Time to make a turn to right and see where this might lead us.
Some strangely curved old wood on the ground.
and a nice field of grass in the middle of the forest
and a small family of dandelion / Taraxacum
and a nice dandelion seedhead
oh look another field with a nice gate and a house in the background.
let me get a bit closer now can you see the house ?
on the other sid of the path there a small ditch besides the field
Time cross the main road again and see what is on the other side.
this old oak tree must have seen a lot in it's lifetime.
a big beech tree on the right and a dead oak tree in the center.
oh look it's a flowering Sorbus aucuparia / rowan / or as we call it Lijsterbes with a little visitor.
and then another field filled with small wild flowers hard to spot in this image , blame the mobilephone.
One big dead beech tree , with plenty of woodpecker holes in it.
And then there was another ditch , to bad that the sunlight was to harsh.
we decided to walk back to the car and leave the rest of the forest for another day .
it does make you wonder what kind of mushrooms will we find here in the autumn.
and then there was this squeeking sound ....
can you spot them ?
let me make it easier for you .....
And crop the image a little bit
Mother duck with 6 babies
And just before we leave the forest behind we spotted these tinny white flowers
and we turned arround and looked up one more time ...
I hope you have enjoyed my forest walk , i know we did and we will be back for more soon .
