Early morning visit at the zoo

This morning i went with my wife , daughter and grand daughter to the local zoo , we all have a season ticket that way it's a lot cheaper to visit whenever you like to .

We started early this morning due to the heat here in Europe , got out of bed at 5:30 to ventilate the appartment so that the house was cool for the rest of the day we don't have any AC here in the appartment.

After breakfast we got in to the car at 08:15 to drive to the zoo that opens at 09:00 as usual at this time of day there was some traffic on the highway A28 so it was a good thing we left early .

While driving to the zoo it was only 18 degrees celcius outside pretty nice ,while at the moment my Homeassistant reports that it is 29 degrees celcius in the shade on the balcony and almost 37 in the direct sunlight.

The rest of the week is going to be even worse according to local weather forecast. You can definitly say that the summer has started ...

Enough about the weather , time for some photography in the zoo .

Today i only brought one camera and one lens the Sony A7IV and the Sony 24-105mm F4 G OSS lens with a polarisation filter on it that i had purchased last month.

1 ) the first animal we went to see was the bear , my granddaughter loves to be the touring guide in the park , she will be four years old in October 😁

2 ) There she goes climbing over the bears , she forgot for a moment to pick up her pink fluffy bunny that hat to come with her on adventure as you can see in the photo .

3 ) I spotted this tiny statue in a dark corner of the park, it's a statue of the extinct bird dodo , presented as agift for the parks 75th anniversary.

4 ) those grey fluffy things on the groud are Snow owl chicks there where three in total but hard to catch on camera because of the distance, and i only had the 105mm max range .

5 ) Next door there was a differend chick the big feet might tell you that it is a screamer and it is indeed a Southern screamer ( Chauna torquata )

6 ) It does look very fluffy and soft

7 ) Look at those big feet underneath that small chick.

8 ) Next up the baby elephant that was born on April 25th this year

9 ) I noticed this sign with art from Zimbabwe that is being sold to help the Elepahnt foundation , since there was a bit of water in the statues reflecting , it was a great way to show what the polarization filter does .

10 ) If i rotate the filter at the front of my lens , most of the reflection is gone , as you can see in this secod photo of the statues .

11 ) it won't take away all reflections but most of it . You can however now see the sand on the bottom of the ditch , and still see some reflections of the building in the water .

12 ) I had to use my high speed camera settings for these racing turtles ..

13 ) and we have a winner of the race 😜

14 ) The last stop for today was the chimpansees , two young ones playing in front of us , before a school bus with kids enterd the building screaming , that was the sign for me to go home again , i still have issues with noisy crowds since my burn-out in 2008 , probably something i will never get over completly .
But those kind of things drain your energy completly.

Well that was it for today time to get back home again and wait for the sun to go down again so we can ventilate the house again 25 degrees Celcius inside at the moment , way mopre then we usualy like , during the winter we try to keep the house heated on 19 degrees Celcius during the day that is our comfort zone , so these + 25 degrees celcius is slowing you down in everything you do .

Yes i could buy an AC but why if you only use it for 2 to 3 weeks a year , i wouldn't mind renting one for that short period but no one is offering so far .

Oh before i forget check your witness votes , so many people are still voting for inactive witnesses , and by inactive i mean they haven't signed a block for more then 30 days that often means they shut down their witness server.

The Easiest way to check is this website from @primersion simply go to : https://primersion.com/witnesses type in the name of your Hive account and it will show you if you are voting for inactive witnesses or not .

And if you have any spare votes left please consider to vote for my witnesses if you haven't already done so .

I enjoyed your post, from the beginning to the final joke 😉 Of course, the turtle race and the interesting details about the photos with and without reflections thanks to your camera's effects hold a special place. Beautiful moments shared with family. Success and blessings.
