April Fools challenge 2026 | Day 5 Happy Easter
This morning i went for a walk with the wife although it was windy and a lot of clouds there was still enough sunshine to enjoy during the walk.
We drove to the Schammer and parket our car there : https://maps.app.goo.gl/Rd7XmyYdU24Rtb8J9 and starting to walk underneath the old oak trees towards the highway A28 .
1 ) First thing that caught my attention were the clouds , the second one was this lonely dandelion / Taraxacum flower .
2 ) But where there is one ... there is always more
3 )Ficaria verna / fig buttercup / speenkruid , we came across this flower before earlier this week in another nature reserve in my area .
4 ) And another dandelion with some fig buttercup and some Glechoma hederacea in the background .
5 ) Looking upwards there are still no leaves on the old oak trees ,
6 ) Spotted a bumblebee feasting on the pussy willow , always a good sign to see some insects active already.
7 ) Bellis perennis / lawn daisy was also flowering in full.
8 ) The Birch tree finally started to show some leaves again
9 ) Glechoma hederacea
10 ) A drone fly / Eristalis tenax sitting on the Brassica napus flowers
11 ) Can you spot the Fulica atra in the water ?
12 ) Reet seeds glowing in the sunlight
13 ) another pond with lovely reflections on the water
14 ) Looking back on the path we walked next to the canal
15 ) Cycling path next to the canal also used for walking .
16 ) Another small pond also a lovely spot to try some timelapse video another daywhen the wind is less cold.
17 ) Cardamine pratensis / Milkmaids / Pinksterbloem , i was suprised to see it flower for two resons , one it's a bit early usualy it flowers at the end of April , and second the plant is underthreat and rarely seen these days.
18 ) The path arround the pond , this is a small private nature reserve but open for the public to enjoy.
19 ) The path leads us between some farms further in to the field.
20 ) on the field were some hares running arround , probably hiding the Easter eggs.
21 ) Slowly making our way back to the car , it's time to go home and get some coffee .
22 ) on the parking lot i spotted this but ,no clown today ....

Thank goodness there weren't any clowns there – that would have given me quite a fright!!
The countryside looks lovely now that spring is in the air, and the clouds add a special touch not only to the landscape but also to the pond with its reflections. I think I have several favourite photos, such as the daisies or the seeds glistening in the sun, and of course I can see the bird in the pond, it’s a bit shy.
