Zooming In The Enormous Life of Tiny Plants

Hello! Yes, finally I get to participate again to ASEAN Hive's Weekly Challenge! This week's challenge focuses on Macro Photography. I believe this is going to be a fun challenge because most of us enjoy taking photos and with cameras and phones having better camera resolution nowadays, capturing a subject nicely is almost effortless. As Katy Perry says in one of her songs, "What a time, to be alive!"

The advancement of cameras is among the greatest technological evolution humans have done. We used to take limited photos because we don't want to waste the camera film on random subjects. And now thank God for digitalization. We can't only just take unlimited photos, we can also tinker on the camera settings and use different modes to cater on our photography needs. One of which is the macro mode.

In the world of photography, macro shots are highly regarded as this requires skill and lenses dedicated for this type of photography. There are also photographers who uses phones to capture macro photos. With a good phone and right settings, it is achievable.

In my case, I am not a photographer but I enjoy taking macro photos sometimes to test my phone's macro mode. And most of my macro photo subjects are the cute tiny flowers in our backyard. So let me share a few of them today!

Weeds have covered our backyard since last month and some of it have began to grow cute and tiny flowers. I was planning to take a photo of the rest of the flowers but I only happened to capture one. I got so busy for Mother's Day and exactly on Mother's Day, my father had our backyard cleaned. All the weeds were uprooted and I have nothing left to take photos of.

Here's the full photo, by the way.

Of course, the Karanda/Karonda fruits. They're so cute and its fruits seemingly makes the Karonda plant look like a midget Christmas tree. I love taking photos of it because after three years, it had finally bear fruit!

This is the Karonda's flower on its budding phase. When I see these, I expect a fruit starting to develop within two weeks. It's fun to observe plants how it grows and develop flowers, more so developing some fruits! It reminds me to go slow and steady on life and simply trust the process!

Looking at this photo had a voice speak in my head. "I'm just a baby". If you know that cute voice over on puppy videos, that's it. This little plant is a baby bok choy. I took a careful photo of it before we transfered it on the garden bed for it to have a wider space for its roots to grow. This photo was captured way back 2020, a few months before the pandemic lockdown began. My mother and I started gardening and I guess my mother was very intuitive because the plants we planted and took care of helped us in some way to get through the strict restrictions.

Among the plants we had back in the pandemic era were tiny sunflowers. I remember my mother and I getting so excited to plant the sunflower seeds we bought as we expect the sunflowers to grow big just like the flowers we saw at the sunflower farm we have been to. However, the flowers only grew about 1.5 inches in diameter. Anyway, at least I got to have a macro photography with it as the subject. Lol. Some bugs were even consuming the petals so the plants wither in a few days after it bloomed.

Looking closer to see the bigger things is a good practice to appreciate something. Well, this applies not only on things but also with life. Dig deeper to see the bigger picture.

That's all! I'd say doing macro photography is fun but can be challenging especially when the subject is moving or swayed by the wind! Cheers to more photos for more memories to keep!

Did I forget to say that a photo is a form of art? So yeah we are all artists here!

God Bless! :)

Thanks for reading! 💚

That was so beautiful. It's like tiny beauty. If they are not zoom out they would not be seen. And if you make it a subject of the photography you can see it's little beauty. It's very beautiful.
