Early morning in Pha Mo I Daeng
Hello and welcome to a different kind of post this time. I said a while back that I would be posting more photos too when I get back and I still haven't gotten to doing that so I decided now would be a good time. A while back I went to a place in northeastern Thailand and I stayed in a small house near the border to Cambodia. The reason I was there was to go see the sunrise which is supposed to be really amazing on this mountain. It was a really cool place and I wanted to share some photos with you here. Let's get to them!
I will post the photos in chronological order so you can see the sunrise's progress. So this is when we first arrived at the viewpoint. Around 6 AM.
Pha Mo I Daeng is the name of the place I visited and it's in the Sisaket province. It took a while to drive up there since we had to leave really early to make it in time for the sunrise. It gets really misty up there in the mornings so we had to drive really slowly. When we finally made it up there, the first thing I noticed was how many people had come up there to see it. It actually seemed really popular and even some monkeys had come out to chill out and watch.
The photos aren't the best as I am still using my phone camera sadly but the view is still pretty amazing in my opinion.
I love how it slowly covers the valley and the hills too. I really wish I had a better camera so I could have taken some better shots of this lol. As I said earlier, people weren't the only ones enjoying the views.
This little family had come out to watch the sunrise. There were a lot of them and it seemed like they really enjoyed just taking it easy here in the mornings. It was a really cool place and I am happy we decided to wake up early to go there. I really recommend going if you are ever in Sisaket. It's fairly easy to get to and some camping places rent out small houses as well nearby. There is a small fee that you pay on the way up which is more expensive for tourists but it's totally worth it. You can also grab something small to eat and a coffee right at the viewpoint which was cool and convenient.
That's pretty much it for this post. I wanted to take loads of photos but pretty quickly realized that my camera isn't good enough for these kinds of shots so I just picked the best ones I had to share here.
Here's a bonus photo with some more monkeys enjoying the views. Alright so I will be back with more photo posts soon and I hope very soon I will have a new camera too. See you next time and take care, everyone!
Peace, Straw

Want to have your post on the map too?
Absolutely stunning. You can't beat a beautiful sunrise, especially in the mountains.
The shots of the monkeys are gold! I felt myself losing balance while seated, looking at the last photo of the monkeys on the ledge (not so much on the railing). I really appreciate photos like these because I might not have the courage or capability to cope at such altitudes...btw, I think you mixed up sunset/sunrise throughout? That happens to me a lot :)
Glad you liked the photos! I agree, mountains are a great place to see a sunrise. I was really happy with that shot of the three monkeys haha. The other photo does kinda have that effect with the background actually lol. I did mix those words up. Thanks for letting me know :)
No worries! I experienced some spectacular views in Alishan Mountains, Taiwan and some in the Philippines too.
Have a lovely week ahead:)
Awws those monkeys chilling!
Wonder what it's like being in the woods when those clouds enter them, was it misty when you got back down going through there?
Yeah haha the monkeys are awesome. I didn't really notice any mist on the way back down but we did go in the other direction. Not sure how it is on the Cambodian side which is what you see in the distance in the photos.
Aah okay, this would be an insane place to do one of those timelapse vids I imagine, seeing those clouds roll in.
Yeah I saw some people who seemed to be doing just that. Kinda wish I had a proper camera and could do it lol.
Yo! Straw, even with the camera phone, I say these photos came out quite well, especially that little monke family haha.
This place reminds me of our Bandarban, here in Chittagong Bangladesh. The sunrise there is just as stunning. There's a lot more places to explore as well, check it out, you may be intrigued to pay a visit after you check out some of these locations haha.
Yoo Riz, haha I am glad you liked the photos. The monkey one did kinda turn out well. Haha I will definitely check it out. Will visit someday for sure.
Then you better let me know, I'll be the tour guide haha. 🔥
Sounds great man. See you then!😄
LET'S GOOO. 🔥
Fucking helll...... Above the clouds? That is..... Beautiful dude! Is that where you live now?
Actually here I was just visiting a friend and this happened to be near so we stopped by on the way haha. It is really beautiful though.

Great photos man, I love nature in all its forms but in the morning when the sun is rising and all the animals are waking up, it's just beautiful. I think your phone is pretty good at taking photos too. At least better than mine XD
I totally agree. If you love nature then watching the sunrise is one of the best things you can do. It is pretty good in some things but darker photos usually fail pretty hard but I guess that is the normal problem with camera phones.
Hi straw, great photograph of sunrise in Pha Mo I Daeng. Wonderful. I think the monkey is also enjoying the beautiful scenery of nature there 😁
Great post, thanks for sharing and Greetings from Indonesia :)
Hello! I am glad you liked the photos. Yes haha the whole family seems to be enjoying it.
Thanks and greetings right back!
