Mexican Murals - Owl and Donkey in La Paz [CCC's Street Art Contest #309]
It is not often that you see a mural blending so well into the overall appearance of the wall it is painted on. And I don't mean painting windows, doors, and balconies with vibrant life onto otherwise flat gray walls. What I mean, is simple decorative images that match the color scheme and are just nice to look at.

This one is exactly what I'm talking about. The brown tones fit very well onto the yellow and white of the old colonial style house. The image of the loaded donkey, while feeding the Mexican stereotype a bit, matches the old building, while the huge owl draws the spectator's view into its mesmerizing eyes.
There is also a human figure between the two, one that is interestingly highly stylized in comparison. Not sure how to interpret it, but I think it's certainly noteworthy.

In the bottom right corner you can see the identifying mark of the artist: Uli Mtz a.k.a. Frentealcolor. It is really worth visiting his site, to see some examples of truly mind-blowing art.
This posts, like all my mural related ones, is my entry to this week's CCC Street Art Contest, where you can see lots of cool murals from around the world. To see the rest of my collection of Mexican Street Art, take a look at my Mexican Murals post collection.
