Mexican Murals - On the Wall, Breaking Right Through It [CCC's Street Art Contest #263]

Who says there are no more cool murals in the city? In fact, just the other day I came across a new wall painting only a couple of blocks from where I live. More precisely, it is on a small street called Gob. Luis G. Vieyra, close to the corner of Gob. Rafael Rebollar, in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood of Mexico City.

And what a cool mural it is! A classic car, looking very much like from the 1950's, breaking through the wall of an old style Mexican buildings, of which there are quite a few in this area. It even shows a small arched window, another typical feature of these haciendas turned city houses. While I am pretty sure that this particular wall is much more recent, the mural fits the style of the surrounding buildings perfectly. The size of the car and the window are all like in real life, making the painted image seem real. As for the car, the exact make is not defined, I like how its license plate is actually the address of the place, Vieyra 58. Very cool!

This post, like all the ones in my Mexican Murals series, are also my entry to this week's CCC's Street Art Contest, which has been going on for 263 weeks, and it offers a bunch of amazing examples of street art from around the world. Go ahead and check out both, and if you happen to know a cool mural in your area, why don't you post it in this contest. You could even win a great prize.
