Mexican Murals - Market Corner in Tepoztlán [CCC's Street Art Contest #312]

Today I would like to present a very simple, yet vibrant mural from the center of Tepoztlán, where the street Av. Galeana turns into Av. Ignacio Zaragoza as it crosses 5 de Mayo which in turn becomes Del Tepozteco (as that is the way to go up to the Tepozteco site).

I like this wall painting for its sheer simplicity. Unlike many other murals, painted almost photo-realistically, with lots of skills, this particular piece is more like the doodling on your notebook. Okay, admittedly, it's pretty awesome level of doodling, but still...! While I certainly love the incredibly realistic images too, I also want to appreciate these simpler kinds of murals.

IT includes lots of hearts, with and without wings, flowers and other plants, all strewn around randomly... and a feline character in midst of all. Is it a jaguar? Or maybe an ocelot? It would make sense, as the image seems to be signed by someone going by that name. Together with Luis Baturoni this piece was apparently created by Ocelotl. Since I could not find an artist by this name, maybe it actually is the cat in the mural.
