Mexican Murals - Exotic Life in the Roma [CCC's Street Art Contest #252]

Since I didn't consider my last post the kind of street art that would be fitting for the weekly CCC's Street Art Contest, here is an actual mural that I found only two blocks from the Olmec head crushing the Tesla. I just love the bright colors on the black background. What's even more interesting are the weird looking plants, insects and birds on it. Not sure if they represent actual species, but to me they look exotic enough to call them "fantastic". I know, nature tends to come up with some crazy beings, but that leaf-eye-thing does look pretty wild! I also like how there are actual vines growing up the wall and around the images, blending in perfectly with the nature motives.

This mural is titled “Aura Eterna” and was created by Edgar Bacalao Argaez and can be seen on the entrance to the Golden Goose, a boutique shop (slight redundancy?) on Colima street, between Córdoba and Orizaba, in the heart of the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City, a.k.a. Hipster Central.
