Mexican Murals - Colibri Girl in Tepoztlán [CCC's Street Art Contest #310]

I found this very pretty mural on one of the walls in Tepoztlán last weekend. Actually our objective was not sightseeing, but that town is just covered with beautiful wall paintings. And walking past this one I just had to stop and take a quick photo.

It shows a smiling girl wearing an indigenous type blouse, looking at a pair of hummingbirds, called Colibris around here. Very simple, and very esthetic. The muralists who created this work are Héctor Martín Moreno Villamil a.k.a. Sexto Moreno and MOCS. The mural is titled "Dialogue with my grandparents", which makes sense, since in prehispanic tradition hummingbirds are believed to carry thoughts, wishes, and prayers between the earthly realm and the spiritual world.
