The Colorful Night/Night Photography Contest

Here is the short story. There was a family gathering, and out of nowhere, someone decided to visit a park - Glow Park Faisal Hills. They said it is a unique one. Half were in favor to go; half wanted to visit a cinema. Then began the voting system. Results were pretty clear - in favor for the cinema. However, kids of the houses, with their pookie tactics changed it within few minutes. The Kingmakers!

I was not happy with the decision though. I was like what we will do in a park, and that too, during the night time. Philosophically my "what will do part" deserves condemnation. But, I was being a realist. Whatsoever, I went for it, and I do not regret it at all.

Here is the reason:

Now, standing before these glowing pieces, surrounded by tiny illuminated plant and tree; I felt like I am reading a fairytale. You know those stories, we used to read in our everyday magazines with such imaginative description. For a few moments, I felt like it was not just descriptive feelings, rather someone's pure imaginative power.

As a child, I never questioned magic. A glowing decoration was enough to convince ye that fairies had visited. As an adult, there is questioning for literally everything. There is more wondering and analyzing than live. No doubt, we have become experts in facts but beginners amazement.

It was a unique experience for me as an adult. Growing older simply does not mean avandoning the child within us. Sounds poetic though. Because, I also have a contrary statement in this aspect. But I am not spoiling the mood right now. Even this statement of mine proves - the urge to question everything. So, maybe, maturity is not about losing wonder but learning when to welcome it back.

In the end, the colorful lights did not change the night; they changed the way I or we looked at it.

And remember, it is the night which gives meaning to these lights. Otherwise, these icons were mere structures, lacking beauty.
