In all seriousness tho, there used to be loads of arcades, a funfair and a salt water pool at New Brighton back in the day, when I was a kid... like 30 years ago before I got old and grey and grew a Gandalf beard.
But they got rid of all that good stuff (arcades funfair etc), and I was never sure why as I remember it being a really good day out as a kid. I recon all the Wirral folks didn't want us scousers going over there and populating their beaches with our slang and rough ways 🤣
There has never been a pier there tho, I'm guessing Brighton has always been better than New Brighton tbh 👍
