Out on the lake

Kayak

We got out on the lake this week. Even though we live close to the lake, we don't have a dock or boat so we only get out on the water a few times a year.

Mount Moosalamoo

Usually in a borrowed kayak. Lake people can be quite generous 🙂

Up close

We have a couple of neighbors with docks that let us use them whenever we want but we don't want to wear out our welcome. Although we do alot for our neighbors too. Help with some maintenance kind of stuff and their dogs and whatever.

Camps

There are cabins and docks all around the lake. Fortunately there are lots of older cabins with pretty long shorefronts so its not excessively developed. And there is a public beach that is 1000 ft long so that won't ever be developed. The rest of the shoreline is privately owned. Except for a public boat ramp.

Walk to the lake

Colors have been disappointing this year due to the severe drought in my area. The best colors of the afternoon were on the walk down to the lake.

Your colors look nicer than mine. Finally Indian summer just ended here, hoping to see something turn this year.

Its raining here with more storms to come. We need the rain so I'm happy about that but the wind and rain will likely knock off lots of leaves.

It's cool to have good relations with your neighbors...

Yes, it's true that it hasn't rained much this year, especially in September. I think today is the first rain I've seen in several weeks—a real deficit. But still, beautiful photos with these colors.

Have a great day

Thanks. We've had good luck with neighbors here. Rained all night. Not gonna catch us up but everything helps.
