Cone flowers

I'm obsessing over our flowers lately. These are coneflowers. I really liked this photo. So many coneflowers in different stages, it seemed almost like a collage.

Gerbera Daisy

Gerbera daisy in the same bed as the coneflowers. This bed is thriving this year. I think a little more water than last spring and less deer damage.

Rudbeckia

Rudbeckia again in the dollar garden. I call the fancy ones Rudbeckia.

Black eyed susans

The plain ones blackeyed susans. They are the same thing. The fancy ones we grew from seeds we purchased. The plain ones have been transplanted from around the neighborhood. They grow wild here and common in the ditches, fence rows and fields.

Red Petunia

Petunia are one of the few annuals we plant. And buy. We always go to Lowe's at the start of the season and their prices are crazy low for small packs of annuals.

Purple Petunia

We put together some baskets for the garden to add some color and life while the garden gets going.

Marigolds

Marigolds are another annual we usually buy and put in the baskets or some small beds we have along the garden fence.

First morning glory

Morning glories are always a highlight of our garden. We plant seeds in beds at the base of fenceposts and they eventually take over the whole fence. This is the first bloom of the season from earlier today. We put morning glories to the right of the gate and snap peas to the left. We keep them separate after a few years of harvest snap peas out of morning glory vines 🙄

I love flowers because, through their colors, scents, and shapes, they bring nature into our gardens. Best regards.

Morning glory seeds last forever! I've not planted them in decades and they are still coming up!

We always collect some seeds and replant them just to make sure 🙂
