Monarch Butterfly in garden

We created a butterfly garden to attract butterflies but more generally all pollenators. Milkweed is the key for Monarch Butterflies. Here is a Monarch on common milkweed.

The Monarch was actually more interested in the Joe Pye weed while I was pursuing it.

You can see some of the pollenator friendly landscape here. Joe Pye, golden rod, and boneset which is basically a white verion of the purple Joe Pye.

I liked this shot because it has richer colors in the background. The darker greens and shadows of the forest.

I didn't get close enough for any macro shots but the resolution is good enough to zoom.
