Middlebury, Vermont

Circle

We were in Middlebury yesterday so I took a few photos. The sky was a dramatic backdrop. There is traffic circle kind of between downtown and the college.

Two bros

The town keeps up flower beds in the middle of the circle and Two Brothers Tavern always does a great job with hanging baskets.

Hydrangeas

The building next door to Two Brothers has some lovely hydrangeas.

Townhall

The Middlebury townhall is on the other side of the circle. They incorporated a curve into the design tying it to the circle. Middlebury is the closest decent sized town for us. Its about 9000 people. With the college it has some better services for a town that size like a good hospital. It has two groceries stores plus a co-op. A pharmacy, a Tractor Supply, all the things you need 🙂 The college town supports some better restaurant options too.

Ilsley Library

The Ilsley Library is a great library for a town this size and is under going a major renovation. The original library building is white Vermont granite.

Library extension

This is the back of the library, you can see the original white granite library. All the brown, I guess maybe ochre, is a new expansion. Thanks for checking out my short tour of Middlebury post 👍

Wow, I just opened Ecency after work and saw a Middlebury post! Been away from Hive for a few years after losing my login key but a Vermont post is a wild thing to see on here; in a good way. Anyways, nice photos and I do miss Middlebury greatly. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Sincerely, a Vermonter who cowardly moved to the west coast :)

It seems to be a pretty town, especially its town center with its roundabout full of flowers.

Have a great weekend... !PIZZA
