Low tide #wednesdaywalk
Welcome to my #wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay Today I'm sharing some photos from a recent walk at low tide along the Maine seacoast.
This pano view captures it perfectly but doesn't display particularly well on Ecency. You can see the row boats that are used to access the island at high tide.
I love the rocky shores and the way the rocks break up. Makes me wish I had a truck load of the flat rocks to take home for a path to my garden.
The main island is Barnes island. You can see the ocean on both sides even at low tide.
This smaller island is not connected to Barnes island when the tide comes in. Thanks for joining me on my short walk around the coast. Have a great #wednesdaywalk

A beautiful walk! Did you at least take a couple of those beautiful rocks home with you? Rocks have always been one of my favorite souvenirs and I have several in my garden that I have collected during my travels.

Thanks. I should have put something for scale 🙂. Those were big chunks of rock breaking of the cliffs. BUT I did bring home lots of sea glass. We have a jar full of it - 3 colors brown, green and clear - fun souvenir to remember the trip.

It’s so cool to see areas with low tide. Especially when there are little boats and they end up stranded.
We are thinking about going to Maine in October… not sure yet or where exactly. But it will be a whole new area to discover.
Have a nice Wednesday 👋🏻😊 great captures!
Maine is definitely worth a visit!
Yes, can’t wait to visit one day 😊

We're guilty of a garden full of collected beach rocks. We brought them up backpack by backpack over about two years of beach trips.
We found lots of sea glass. We have a nice jar of sea glass now - green, brown and clear.
Truckloads of rocks reminds me of my days as a mason. I used to have to go out to random desert washes and harvest the right sized stones to later attach to brick walls for ornamentation. Here's the end result lol, that was quite the project during my summer breaks in college. https://www.ourladyofthesierras.org/
Wow thats an impressive church and sounds like a fun summer job. Probably hot and hard work at the time but everything looks better after the passage of some time 😉
It was pretty rough work, definitely had to wake up at 3am then quit at 12 because it was too hot to work. All that slate would make for some nice garden pavers. The trick is compacting the path beforehand with a nice bed of sand before insetting the slate.
