Fading glory

Summer is fading. Along with it, the beautiful blooms of spring and summer.

I fell in love with these first two photos. They look like unfinished paintings.

All of the blackeyed susans are starting to look rough.

The color changes as they begin to dry up.

Each flower ends the season differently. On this one the petals are basically curling up reversing the way they opened up.

The coneflowers are also beginning to fade away.

There is still some beauty here just don't look too closely 🙂

I noticed my rose bush was shedding petals also. This is a little different because the rose bush puts on blooms 2 or 3 times over the summer. Individual blooms last only a week or two.

Yes, the same here. Hollyhocks are beginning to finish and my black-eyed Susans have lots of deadheading needed.
I'm enjoying the cooler weather but it does foreshadow the end of summer is coming 🙁
