Downtown Durham, North Carolina
Downtown Durham has lots of historic buildings.
The Viceroy is actually a restuarant the name of the building is the Snow Building. It was built in the 1920s and is a good example of the Art Deco buildings around the Downtown area.
With the growth of the area, the old and new are mixed - often standing side by side.
The details are often the most interesting aspect of the historic buildings like this eagle on the post office.
The post office was built in the 1930s and is neo-classical in desgn. We've been getting out for early morning walks before the heat and humidity get too bad so I will probably have some more photos of the area before the trip is over.
