Delicate Arch Hike - Moab, Utah

Twisted Juniper

Last weekend we hiked to the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.

Arches National Park

The hike is about 3.2 miles and is moderately challenging. Mostly due to the last section of trail on a narrow ledge above a steep cliff. The scenery is specatular red rock canyons.

Little Window

And of course the arches 😍 this little window is right before the famous Delicate Arch.

Delicate Arch thru little window

With a little effort, you can get a preview of the Delicate Arch through the little window.

Delicate Arch

The Delicate Arch is the most famous of the arches in Arches National Park. Surprisingly there are over 2,000 arches in the park!

Layers

Beyond the arches, the park is over 120 square miles of beautiful red rock, high desert. Lovely part of the world 🙂

Looks like an interesting hike, those landscapes are a sight to behold. I can see why they call it the "Delicate Arch"

The high desert is a beautiful area. Its a good time of the year to do the hike. It was still 60F and sunny in November. Its brutal in the summer.

Brings back memories, gotta keep an eye out for skinwalkers though. Did you see anyone selling Native American Jewelry by the side of the road?

Didn't see any skinwalkers... I don't think. We did see deer, fox, pronghorn, a midget faded rattlesnake so I guess you never know. Only jewelry being sold was in the shops in Moab.

Nice find on that rattlesnake, I've never seen any up there, though at the time I wasn't really inter herping.
