Thanks for telling us a little about Brazil. I have never been there, but some of my colleagues who have told me that the subway is modern and punctual, but limited in length, while the buses are numerous but often crowded and with frequent delays !PIZZA

Depends on the city. In Rio and Brasília, the metro indeed is limited, but it felt quite sufficient in Sampa. It of course depends on where do you stay, the cities are large.
