The Subject of the Photo
In these photos, you can see the Toyota C-HR (2025).

Description
A few days ago, while crossing a parking lot, I came across a Toyota C-HR.

The Toyota C-HR is a compact crossover, in production since 2016 and reaching its second generation in 2023. Personally, I've only seen it in Italy in 2025.
From my research, it seems that in Europe, there is no gasoline version, but there are the following versions:
-Hybrid
-Plug-in Hybrid
-100% electric

The Design
The design lead for the first-generation Toyota C-HR was Kazuhiko Isawa. This design immediately stood out for its angular look, raised coupé line, hidden rear handles, and several side surfacing details to differentiate it from other compact SUVs.
The second-generation car, the one you see in the photos, was designed by Elvio D'Aprile and Ken Nagasaka. Elvio D'Aprile is one of the current active Italian automotive designers. He is the Senior Styling Manager at Toyota Motor Europe Styling Centre, based in Zaventem, Belgium, where he lives and works.
The Toyota website states that this car has NOx emissions (WLTP) of 0.004g/km.

Power output: 223 hp
Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds

Price and Sales
The Toyota C-HR 1.8 Hybrid 140 Active FWD has a list price of €35,700.
Sales appear to be very solid in Europe, but declining in Asia, while the internal combustion engine model has been withdrawn from the US, where it will be sold in an all-electric version.

The Toyota C-HR's main market is Europe.

Thoughts
I really like the design of this car. I won't deny that I'd love to have a plug-in hybrid version, but these types of cars are currently too expensive for my wallet.

When I first saw this car, it reminded me of a shark's nose. Unfortunately, the trunk of the plug-in hybrid version is too small for my taste.

Qualche giorno fa attraversando un parcheggio mi sono trovato di fronte una Toyota C-HR.
La Toyota C-HR è un crossover compatto, in produzione dal 2016 e arrivato alla seconda generazione nel 2023. Personalmente qui in Italia l’ho vista solo in questo 2025.
Dalle mie ricerche, sembra che in Europa, non esista la versione a benzina, ma esistono le versioni:
-Hybrid
-Plug-in Hybrid
-100% elettriche

Il design
Il capo progetto del design della Toyota C-HR.prima generazione fu Kazuhiko Isawa. Questo design si fece subito notare in quanto aveva un look spigoloso, linea da coupé rialzata, maniglie posteriori nascoste, e diversi accorgimenti sulle superfici laterali per differenziarsi dagli altri SUV compatti.
Invece il design della seconda generazione, l’auto che vedete nelle foto, è firmato da Elvio D’Aprile e Ken Nagasaka. Elvio D’Aprile è uno degli attuali designer automobilistici italiani in attivo. Egli è il Senior Styling Manager presso Toyota Motor Europe Styling Centre, con sede a Zaventem (Belgio), dove vive e lavora professionalmente.
Sul sito Toyota è segnato che questa auto ha emissioni NOx (WLTP) = 0.004g/km.

Prezzo e Vendite
Toyota C-HR 1.8 Hybrid 140 Active FWD ha un prezzo di listino di € 35.700.
Per quanto riguarda le vendite sembra che siano molto solide in Europa, ma in calo in Asia, mentre il modello termico è stato ritirato dagli USA, dove sarà venduta in forma 100% elettrica.
Il mercato principale dell Toyota C-HR è il mercato europeo.

Pensieri
Il design di quest'auto a me piace molto. Non nego che mi piacerebbe avere questa auto in versione ibrida plug-in, ma attualmente, questo genere di autovetture sono troppo costose per il mio portafogli.
Quando ho visto per la prima volta questa auto, mi aveva fatto venire in mente il muso di uno squalo. Peccato per il bagagliaio che nella versione plug-in ibrida purtroppo è piccolo per i miei gusti.
