The Fiat 1100 is a car built by the Italian car manufacturer FIAT.
This car had a very long production period from 1939 to 1969.
The FIAT 1100 replaced the important Fiat 508 Balilla (a car with which FIAT started mass motorization in Italy) and was in turn replaced by another important model, the Fiat 128. The FIAT 128 was FIAT's first front-wheel-drive car, and given the choice the company had made, production of this car was initially joined by that of the FIAT 1100. Production of the FIAT 1100 was discontinued after some positive feedback on the FIAT 128.
The FIAT 1100 was revolutionised in the 1960s, the photos shown in this post are of a model from that time. The photos show exactly a FIAT 1100 Special.
The name Special identifies the most valuable version of that time.
It was precisely in the Special version that the doors were changed, the 'windward' opening doors were abandoned and the 'upwind' configuration was adopted.
In addition to the factories in Italy, this car was also assembled in West Germany and India.
The current price of this car is around 10,000 euros.

La Fiat 1100 è una vettura costruita dalla casa automobilistica italiana FIAT.
Quest’auto ha avuto un periodo di produzione molto lungo che va dal 1939 al 1969.
Il modello FIAT 1100 sostituì l’importante Fiat 508 Balilla (auto con cui la FIAT diede inizio alla motorizzazione di massa in Italia) e venne sostituita a sua volta da un altro importante modello Fiat 128. La FIAT 128 fu la prima vettura FIAT a trazione anteriore e vista la scelta che aveva fatto la società, la produzione di questa vettura fu inizialmente affiancata proprio a quella della FIAT 1100. La produzione della FIAT 1100 fu sospesa dopo aver avuto alcuni riscontri positivi sulla FIAT 128.
La FIAT 1100 fu rivoluzionata negli anni 60, le foto mostrate in questo post sono proprio di un modello di quel tempo. Le foto mostrano esattamente una FIAT 1100 Special.
La denominazione Special identifica la versione di maggior pregio di quel tempo.
Proprio nella versione Special le portiere vennero cambiate, furono abbandonate le portiere con apertura "a vento" e vennero adottate quelle con configurazione "controvento".
Questa autovettura fu assemblata oltre agli stabilimenti in Italia anche in Germania Ovest ed in India.
Il prezzo attuale di questa autovettura si aggira sui 10.000 euro.
