For some time now I've wanted to tell a little more about the city in which I live. The reason i was hesitant was that I didn't know how to present it... Yes, I could look up Wikipedia and the local newspaper to talk about its history, but would that really be a nice presentation of the town I live in? The answer is no. Don't get me wrong, the history of a town, village, country, etc. says a lot about it and the people who live there, because while we try to look forward, we're always looking to the past, but the significant historical events are 100 years in the past, so most of it's not representative of us, the people living in the present.
Recently I found out about Urban Exploration and then I found out about @liketu which really got me thinking about taking photos of the Urban Fabric of the city it's graphics, trees, landmarks, people, buildings, that way with the addition of some history I think with all the above the post will be an acquarate representation of my city.. Now I do not think I can do this with just one post, as the number of photos is limited to 10, so it will be a series of posts, I hope 3 to 4 at the most. I will only include photos of the city area and not of the villages near the city, which are administratively part of Katerini, but not so close and therefore not part of the city fabric.
The first article is about some of the street art works sponsored by the mayor.
Photos 1 to 6 are sponsored paintings by various local painters, painted on telecommunication boxes to make them more colorful and add a nice touch to the boredom of the city.
Photos 7 through 10 show a series of prints by various local street artists under a large bridge in a residential neighborhood.

My two favorites are the green eye and the kiwi. But the skull one is the coolest.
