A Day In Milan

Day in Mila

I spent the day wandering around Milan — and honestly, it was one of those days that just flow effortlessly. No rush, no plan. Just me, the city, and that feeling that you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

First stop: the Duomo. I don’t think any photo can really prepare you for how massive and detailed it is. Standing there in front of it, it almost feels alive — every inch carved with stories. The square was full of people taking pictures, laughing, feeding pigeons… and I just stood there, trying to take it all in.

Then I walked through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and wow — that place is elegance in motion. The architecture, the light, the sounds of footsteps echoing on marble floors… it’s like Milan showing off, but in the most effortless way. I grabbed a quick espresso, watched people pass by in perfect outfits (of course), and just enjoyed that little Italian chaos that somehow feels calm.

Later, I made my way to Sforza Castle — a total contrast. Quiet, open, green. I wandered through the courtyards and then sat for a while by the fountains, just people-watching. Families, cyclists, tourists, all blending into one big afternoon moment.

But my favorite part? Navigli. The second I got there, I knew I’d love it. The canals, the light, the noise of the crowd — everyone with a drink in hand, Aperol glasses glowing orange under the sunset. I walked for a bit, then sat down by the water, ordered my own Spritz, and just watched life unfold. No filters needed.
Milan surprised me. It’s not just about fashion or big monuments — it’s about vibe. It’s a city that knows how to move fast, but also how to slow down when it matters.

Milan is a beautiful city, although my last memory was in the train station. I was at football game there with my brother and friends and sleeping at the station as we missed the last train back up to France. I woke to see an Italian policewoman rather vigorously kicking my brother awake 🤣

Great shots!
