Vishwakarma - The Architect.
India is a land of festival with many function comes up every month. After just concluded celebration of Janamaatami and Ganesh Chaturthi festivals, it is time to celebrate Lord Vishwakarma. Not many are aware of this festival, but it is celebrated with full devotion too. The festival is celebrated on 17 of September every year. The festival is particularly popular among engineers, architects, artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, and industrial workers who rely on tools and machinery in their daily work.
The uniqueness of this festival is about worshipping tools and machinery on this day is believed to ensure their smooth, efficient, and accident free operation. So be it anyone vehicle (cars, two wheeler, cycle) People just worship them. My #Wednesdaywalk was part of the festival celebration where I ended up watching some nice constructed building under ready for possessions status.
The day begins with washing and cleaning my vehicle. There were lot of rush in the washing places since Tuesday evening and yesterday morning. People wanted to wash their motor before worshipping. It is like bathing before the function. So those who get lucky wash in the washing centre, and those who left ended up by themselves. The elders or the kids took out their vehicle on road and started cleaning them. I did by my own early in the morning. My neighbour did made it look special on a grand scale. He decked up his car in style.
Vishwakarma is revered as the divine engineer who built legendary cities like Dwarka and designed divine weapons for the gods, according to mythology.
The festival pays tribute to skill, creativity, and diligence, celebrating the dignity of labor and the role of craftsmanship in building society. Be it any building construction site or a factories involves machinery, everyone pays tribute to the Lord in their own style. It depends how they want to celebrate. While some comes up with big idol of the lord and some as per their level of celebration.
My neighbor who is a building contractor by profession took me to his construction site. It was grand celebration. They have organised a well planned lunch programs for all the visitors. I was one of the attendee of their luncheon part. While everyone was busy with their meals, I was interested in exploring the place. The place is a bit far away from where I stay, and never comes towards this side. There were many construction and celsbration happening. But I was attracted towards this piece of building.
The colourful nature of the society was enough to get anybody attention. All the building were identical design and The property is worth in lakhs. It is standing just opposite to where I came for the lunch. The two storey building was very attractive at first look.
Hats off to the #architect of this building for coming up with this design. Every colour is beautiful and attractive to any customer. The building is aligned one after the another and in same shape and size. There is a minor gap between the building allowing proper ventilation. The building is well powered by roof-top #solar panel enabling the focus on #cleanplant initiative.
This is part of the integrated society with each building belongs to its owner. The building design is identical and there is enough road space available for parking. The outer look was important for any building and the architect made sure there are no points of any difference. They looks perfect to watch.
Looking at the outer design and look, I must say the architect and engineers need to be respected and there is no harm in celebrstion of Lord Vishwakarma. Why dont we need his blessing in making our world a better place to live in. The building does made me to dream of owning one such of my own. I wish I could go inside to one of them to see. But the outer look says it all.
In good faith - Peace!!
Wow this festival is a very interesting one, worshipping vehicles and all are beautiful.
Hope you are enjoyed the festival?
I know India is a beautiful country with so many cultures. Thank you for sharing 😊
Festival meant to be enjoyed and leaving any stone unturned is waste of the moment. This festivals unique but do have meaning as tools and equipment are supposed to be handled carefully. And noone wants any mishappening
With all the festivals there must be a huge market in India for the companies that provide the decorations and that sort of stuff for them. It seems like they really go all out for each of the special days.
Indeed it the decorationnis a thriving business. Not only for festival, but for any b-day, or new home or be any function. The market came alive once the festival nears..now we all set to welcome Navratri / Durga Puja begining 22...and the preparation has already began...espcially the make shift tent caled pandals.
Very interesting. We are kind of hitting that season too with Halloween right around the corner and then Thanksgiving and finally Christmas. The stores are stocking up on all the decorations.
India has many festival and celebrate it with so much preparation and all the Indians are attending. Its nice to see people help each other do the decorations and other preparations.
The all round effort is what makes each festival very unique and enjoyable...everyone make their conyribution making the ocassion memorable.
