It was only yesterday, that I was commenting on a post how much I was missing on my garden. It has been 2 years, since I contributed towards gardening. This year too, my Mom is looking after the garden with the help of fellow villagers. I had no update about the progress until I made a personal visit todays. I came to my village to spend the weekend and seeing the garden blooming with fresh veggies made me quite relieved.

The December and January are great for gardening because cooler weather suits many hardy vegetables in my native. Vegetable like spinach, carrots, reddish, peas and other herbs are main products to grow. However, most part of the gardening space is still covered with potatoes. Still few weeks to get it ploughed. But the fresh look does give a good sign of good harvest this season.

In my village, the people like to grow their own vegetable. Those who have limited space grows veggies for own consumption like in my case, while those having bigger space grows different veggies in good quantity to sell. During these time of the year , we do not need to go to the market to fetch vegetables, as fresh vegetable is easily available now and then at a very cheaper rate. I took a take a walk towards my backyard for a general inspection of all the vegetable. There is a small bed for #"coriander"

These coriander leaves are an important item for every Indian kitchen. Coriander leaves are used in vegetable dishes for their vibrant green color, fresh citrusy-herbal aroma, and unique bright flavor that elevates bland vegetables. And the bed is perfect for some quality dishes.

Besides the Coriander bed, we have a small area dedicated for #Cauliflower. It is one of the most loved vegetable of winter. Heavenly cultivated at many places and sold in open market. But I have my own growing fresh Cauliflower.

So far the growth is goods, and fee start to flower. The little Cauliflower has started to bloom from the middle of the plant. It looks quite attractive. It is a common, beloved vegetable in Indian households, used in many traditional winter meals.

To compliment cauliflower dishes, #peas is an essential items. So how could my Mom miss out on it. She added few seeds of "peas" along the cauliflower bed. And it also started to bloom.

Few other items that were added were #radish and #seim beans. There is no radish lover at home, there were few that was coming up along the veggies boundary. While seim beans were growing of their own.

What I like most about all these is that, no fertilizers or pestici were used in its cultivation. They were cultivated using cow dung as manure and fresh soil. It is not going to affect our health. Seeing the little garden veggies. I am happy. I am sure my Mom not going to consume everything, she will share with other family member. She is loving soul.

In good faith - Peace!!

I think it's wonderful how they manage to grow their own food without fertilizers! Congratulations to your family for preserving this essential and useful tradition!

Your garden looks spectacular and growing very well and strong. I don't like radish either but it is true that it is good to have a bit of everything in the garden. I love the way the coriander has grown, it looks very fresh and as you mention it is ideal for enhancing the flavour of other vegetables. The owner of the shop where I go to buy fruit and vegetables is Indian and I like the fact that he always has good quality produce. Your garden reminded me of him,

The potato plantation looks very good and I am glad that the weather is suitable for further planting. It is always good to know what we eat and if we have a place we can plant our own vegetables and best of all without pesticides or chemicals but in a natural way. You have a beautiful garden! Thank you very much and hug!🤗
