Join millions in the sacred journey of devotion at Puri - "Khadipada walk"

During the day, I was reminded of the beaches and soon I started to miss my recent trip. This made me to navigate through my mobile gallery, when I crossed through some of the pictures which were never been shared. It was some random images from the stroll that I was taking in the busiest crowded street of Puri. I must say, I have been to many pilgrimiage places but never seen the such a rush all through out the street. Everyone is too devoted towards Lord Jagannath. And Lord Jagannath us watching each of them from every corner of the street.

These are the wooden artefacts are very popular. And devotees like to them back home as a souvenirs of this devoted place.

We made our trip in the month of October. As i reached Puri in the early afternoon. We quickly made our way towards the temple hurriedly on foot through the wide main road leading to the temple. The road is called as khadipada It will disrespect to say, it was an easy walk. While there were many streets shops all along the roads. At the same time, I observed several big groups of pilgrims from all over the country hastening towards the temple.

Their deep devotion in Lord Jagannath had brought them to Puri, which is one of the four auspicious pilgrimages for Hindus. There was a big group of men and women from almost every part of India. There were people from Rajasthan, another from Bihar and yet another from Maharashtra. Name the state and you will find every indian state of people at one place. Thanks for thr temple management, they have their office set up for kind of help.

I found some of the building along the road quite outdated. Like they were from the British era. It resembles like an old school of architecture. Apart from the building, even the shops that lined up at the bottom of the buildings have old look. And the shop owner too. But interesting thing, the cloth or other products were much cheaper. Especially tye cotton street, which were available at throwaway prices.

I was experiencing a difderent world altogether existing just few kilometre away from my home. It is so strange to see how a state boundary brings about such a huge changes in customs, lifestyle, tradition, language, and more importantly behaviours. The people out there were very friendly. Everyone was cooperative and very friendly. Just do not mess with anyone. I kept clicking many pictures and here they are:

the local sweet dish is all over the place. Made up of pure ghee, it is sweet, crunchy and dried item.

The entire road I filled up with so many artefacts stalls. Each one of them were attractive. They are made up of differrent things. But everyone is so colorful.

the decorative piece, very popular. People hang them in cars or at home. They look very bright and good looking.

There are few more....

It was hard to miss out on the item, while you were walking I the busy roads. But being so excited I kept snapping everything from the word go. Hope you experince the same feeling As I had, while walking the Puri roads.

Peace!!

How are you dear friend @steemflow good morning
You have a great photo album, you have found very beautiful unpublished shots, I think I have read about your visit to Puri an unforgettable experience for you. That's what I like about photographs, that just by looking at them, you can remember that pleasant moment.

I like the format of this type of business, I find it very practical for those who sell, as well as for those who purchase their products.
Beautiful shots, appreciate you letting us know.
have a great day

India has very interesting culture. The wooden artefacts are so cute, I'd love to have them too as souvenirs. The street is so alive and colorful. I'd love to see camel in real life too.
