I followed my heart and it led me straight to the liquor aisle.

I am not a drinker. I am kind of person who drinks ocassionaly during any social gathering. This means that I never been to any alcohol shops. But I have seen many shops selling alcohol to be crowded. People seems to be in rush who get over one another to grab a bottle of their favorite drinks and leave rhe shops in hurry. They have limited choices, and familiraity with drinks. Be it rural areas or big cities the scene is similar. But Bangalore the city known to be IT hub in India surprises me with their grand alcohol shops. Infact calling it a alcohol super market in not wrong.

It was a surprise visit to a liqor shops along the busy market road. My brotyer with whom I am staying now insisted me to make a visit. He drinks ocassionally and wanted to buy small bottle for the night. Seeing it from outside does not giving me any grand feeling. It appears to be a casual shops selling alcohol.

The moment I stepped in, I got a different vibes. It was not a usual alcohol shops. Generally the alcohol shops in India have a iron grill on the window and the vendors were inside. People ask for their brand and they hand over them from outside. But here the scene is different. It is a alcohol super market, where you will get everything under one terrace. Right at the entrance, there is an computerised billing counter, with 3 computer working in tandem. Behind it is a huge display of expensive bottle of whiskey. The set does looks to be a grand set up.

The big establishment has two sections. The first one is the billing counter and has expensive liquor display while the other has hige display of all kinds of whiskey bottle. It houses all kind of brand that i never heard of. The sustem is simple. You walk in, choose your brand, pick any bottle , get the billing done and walk away. The system appears to be smooth and functioning. There were bot much rush, and many people walked in choose their bottle and simple lesve the premises. I am seeing it first time so spending much time in exploring all the option available.

I never been to such shops before. Bangalore is widely known as the pub and craft beer capital of India, fostering a large, legal age consumers who enjoy exploring different alcoholic beverages. This is why there many mega store like this. These mega stores stock many global brands under one roof ranging from local beers to rare imported wines and expensive scotch. I am withessing some fabulous name in front of me. I took a walk inaide the store mostly to click pictures. There were few bottles which I never heard of before. Each appears to be expensive and rare.

One name that sounds familiar to me is old monks . I have seen it many a times. But the bottle use to be a usual tougned glass one, but here it is available in a rare bottle.

As I walked through the store, I found many bottles kept in the racks. They were displayed openly so the whosoever visit may pick their bottle. They are available in all quantity. From a quarter bottle to a little. There are no restriction of picking. It all boils down to choosing the brand you like for the evening.

I think the place is hub of liquor. There were many fine bottles available of your choice. But you need to be delicate with the choices, as most of the bottle were made up of glass, and any damages inside will be borne by you. The amount of time I was inside, nobody interfere me. While I kept busy clicking pictures of all corner the shops. There was a huge amount of classic bottle on showcase and I dont wanna miss them.

It was one of the colorful display of liquor. Each one looks tempting, my brother felt like grabbing all at once. No doubt any alcohol lover have their saying about the place. Historically, buying alcohol in India meant standing in chaotic lines outside dark, barred windows. Seeing this mega store, I belive Bangalore pioneered the concept of the walk-in liquor boutique. The aesthetically pleasing displays of liquor make alcohol shopping feel safe, sophisticated, and premium. Another feather added to this memorsble South India trip.
