Gun 25 - Pounder : Gods of War !
Like any other Kid, I was also fascinated with Indian armed personal in my childhood. I spend hours watching the republic day parade on Television especially the military personal marching in rhythm and also the different warfare equipment on display. That was the only source in our childhood to familiarize with warfare weapons and different firearms. Those weapon played many critical role in various warfront, be it #indo-pak war or #indo-china war. But I never had the chance to see them in real. But during my recent trip to Amritsar, all my childhood curiosity and fascination came calling and get alive when I encounter an #Artillery gun displayed outside a military camp. It was a sheer piece of heavy duty machine standing with in middle with its nose high.

Artillery gun has played a crucial role in our history, from ancient sieges to modern conflicts. An interest in military history often leads to a fascination with the technology that defined those eras. This artillery gun is known as Gun 25 - Pounder, played crucial role in different warfare. The origin of this gun is United Kingdom, but it has played key role in the outcome of World War 2, Indo-Pak war 1947, then on 1965 and then again on 1971.

Every details of the artillery gun was on display weighing 1633 kg, this machine has many stories to tell. Firearms, especially these large artillery pieces, often called the "God of War" or "King of the Battlefield" because of its immense #firepower and ability to shape the outcome of battles. The sheer power and range of these weapons can be awe-inspiring. These aged old artillery guns are marvels of mechanical and materials engineering. The elegance and efficiency of their design, from the breech mechanism to the ballistics, can be highly intriguing. I am enjoying finding this deadly machine in front of my eyes.

This machine has a heavy hook to toe, strong tyre for its transportation and more importantly pure iron material used in its manufacturing. I wish somebody could tell me how it works, I wanted a live demo, but this one is for display making people aware of the ancient masterpiece. But thanks to a officer walking by, helped me to understand that the purpose of this artillery gun was to provide indirect, high angle fire support for troops on the front lines. It was also capable of direct fire, making it useful for self defense or engaging targets with a flatter trajectory. I was elated knowing about this gem and thanks the officer for his time. A wonderful experience to remember.
In good faith - Peace!!
