A little morning update - I can't believe it's nearly Christmas already!
Well, here we are approaching Christmas, and the last time I posted was the end of April talking about the arrival of spring!
Life has become proper hectic this year. The degree, although mostly fun, is like another full-time job. With that the absolute mess I get myself into every 10 weeks when it comes to submitting my assessments, I'm absolutely exhausted. Two more assessments for this year then a decision to be made as to whether I'll sign up for the final one.
Managed a nice break over summer although the studying didn't stop. I took 3 weeks off work and managed to spend some time with my daughters, who seem to both be getting bigger far too quickly. We didn't get away, but had some lovely days out including a trip to Imperial War Museum, Duxford.
It was quite an active day on the airfield with things flying and being moved around. Youngest daughter took some photos too ... apparently she was recording my bald spot, not me getting excited about the plane.
She did ask me to pose for this one!
It was great to see some Spitfire action. I've always found the sound of these things absolutely mesmerising. The V12 Roles Royse Merlin engine is a wonderful sounding thing.
There were other more delicate things doing circuits too. I'm assuming this is a Tiger Moth. Whatever it was, it liked to bounce around a bit on landing.
People were coming and going in their own aircraft too.
During the break I tried to start things I used to do, but no longer make the time for. This included baking bread. It went pretty well to be honest. I don't think there were any disasters. The bread rolls were especially delicious with the girls eating them quicker than I could knock out batches.
More recently, the girls have both had their birthdays over the past 6 weeks. Youngest (13) locked herself away for the day, and made this wonderful model her aunt got her. I can see her needing some shelves in her bedroom as I think they may become her "thing".
Eldest (15), well her tastes are a little bit noisier!
I thought it about time she had her own amplifier that she can use at band practice. She has been trying to fight with a drumkit using a 10w amp, that hasn't been going well.
I can't believe she's 15 already!
Today will be a largely relaxing day. We'll be popping out to see my sister as it's her birthday tomorrow. It'll then be a day of cooking the roast with the possibility of occasional Christmas movies.
The next module begins tomorrow and it starts all over again.

But I must say, you're looking well on it.
I'm sure I've asked you this question before, so apologies. My excuse now is that I do have the money for it sitting on one side! I'm thinking of buying a camera and I wondered what your suggestions would be? I'm a starter photographer who would like a bit more control over pictures. I will need to take some close ups of work, often knitting with fine detail, for my art portfolio, but other than that I guess my needs are generalist.

I'd always go for an SLR for ultimate control. I like seeing an optical
Image through the viewfinder, although many come with screens too. They offer the ultimate control.
Mirrorless aren’t far behind in terms of control. In fact they’re probably not behind at all on that front. They’re smaller but I think rely on digital viewfinders. They’re probably the choice if you want something smaller.
Both have interchangeable lenses.
I’ve no experience with compact cameras. I’m sure they offer much the same, but they’re not my thing.
As for brands I think they’re all much of a muchness. I like Canon as I like, and am used to the interface.
Don’t be afraid to buy second hand. I’ve bought my best gear (including lenses) used through the mbp website.

I’ve a Canon 6D which is full frame and now under £300 in good condition.
Full frame (35mm equivalent) vs cropped is probably the place to start. Cropped has a smaller sensor.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone

We were in Hamburg just a few weeks before 15 arrive very early! She has her first gig tonight as part of the school Christmas show. Her band is playing Zombie …. Very Christmassy 😂.
I’m going to make an effort to be here more. It’s an enjoyable place that I don’t make time for.
Ah Hamburg! That brings back some memories. I was in Liverpool recently for the big drum show and that was a lot of fun. I'll have a 30 year old before too long!
