YESTERDAY'S CHRISTMAS WITH FAMILY
Due to the fact that Christmas fell on a Sunday, we spent the majority of the day in church. There aren't really any special Christmas celebrations at home, but this year felt a little bit different. Before we left for church service my little sister, and I took some cool pictures.
Here's my younger sister. My photographic partner and the family's last child. We shot a lot of pictures together, and it had been a long time since we had selfies together! There's still more to see.
My sister and I decided to take some pictures with our father because he was nearby. Some people say I look like my father, but I think I look more like my mother. Unfortunately, I was unable to photograph her.
My little niece also wanted to join in the fun as well... She wanted to take a picture
I didn't take many pictures of what we bought at the grocery on our way home, but I did photograph my mother removing the feathers from the chicken we slaughtered. Oh, and we butchered four hens for Christmas. This means that there will be a lot of chicken to eat this Christmas and New Year's.

We are permitted to kill any animal we want to consume in Nigeria as long as we own it. I, for one, lack the fortitude to slaughter a chicken. I was irritated by seeing blood, and I still get irritated when I see my own blood. I avoided the area where the chicken was slaughtered since I couldn't eat the chicken if I was there.
Anyways, my Christmas holiday celebration proper would be happening on the 28th of December. It would be a get-together between @josediccus @ksam @kbanti and hopefully, @trojan1 would be present in the meetup.

I don't like the sight of blood either by the way, so I won't do the slaughtering. I did use to help pluck chickens and ducks some years ago, but my mother and I didn't like the amount of work that comes with it, especially the cleaning up after. The smell was also pungent.
But the reward at the end is the delicious taste of a well-cooked chicken.
That is so, but I'd rather do all the work in the kitchen than in the "slaughterhouse" 😅.

I wonder if there is a word or reason why some people can't stand seeing a hen killed, my hubby is like that too, so I'm not surprised.

Killing is not allowed in the house, I pay for it to be killed and defeathered for me by the seller
