ONE BLOG, TWO STORIES

I have two stories to tell you. The first is about a product I ordered from Jumia, and the second is about something I missed about home.

Are you like me that likes to buy things online rather than physically going to the market to check them out? You would have most certainly ordered some things that you did not like and would have had to request a return. Yes, this recently happened to me.

I ordered a shoe on Jumia that had a great rating and positive reviews, so I expected to be pleased with the quality, however it did not meet my expectations. The last shoe I received was terrible, but I didn't request a return because I paid a low price for the shoe and didn't expect it to be of high quality. That is the reason why I kept that shoe without returning it.

But I can't say the same for this shoe because the quality should have been far better given the price tag and the positive feedback I've read about it.

Here is the order picture below:

I bought this shoe with plans of rocking it to an outing but looks like it is a No for me. Right now, seems I would better go for more expensive shoes on Jumia if it means I would get a shoe of much better quality, comfort and feel.

Here are some pictures of the shoe I took with my phone camera:

The shoe was wonderful on the outside, but I didn't like how the sole felt. It was not of the same calibre as the shoe I had been using. I was anticipating a thicker sole, but it was surprisingly soft. If the sole had been robust and thick, I would not have asked for a return.

I didn't want to wear the shoe since it would leave a mark indicating I had worn it, and my return might not be accepted. But, in any case, I took advantage of the opportunity to photograph it.

THE SECOND STORY

I had forgotten how much I missed the taste of pepper soup since I returned home. It was difficult to get the thoughts out of my head because it was so simple to leave my house and walk a few steps away to my favourite pepper soup shop. I couldn't resist the temptation, so I went out to grab some pepper soup to eat.

I ordered goat meat and catfish pepper soup. The first two photographs are of the catfish I obtained, and the last two are of the goat meat. I was handed the head of a catfish; I don't like eating the head, but there were no other catfish available, so I had no choice but to eat what was offered.

I got a new sense of accomplishment after eating the dinner. Perhaps a dopamine sensation. I felt fantastic and realised how much I had missed. Since I don't have a favourite meal, I should make pepper soup my official favourite.

By the way, What meal do you always long to eat in particular?

You no dey carry last for where chicken, turkey and catfish pepper soup matter dey oooo πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Online shopping has its own beautiful advantage, but its disadvantage is worrisome and not a funny experience at all, especially when you have plans with the item.

Ordering some certain things from Jumia is a no no for me. A friend of mine once ordered clothes, shoes, bag, wristwatch and some other things from them and they lacked that quality in them. I was not happy about it especially for the fact that I had some things inside but instead of returning them, we had to manage them but I won't be buying anything online for now.

Foodie! Seriously, like you, only you drank to plates of pepper soup, ah! It's obvious that you missed it a lot, good thing you are back home, enjoy yourself. At least now we know your official favorite food, hehe.

I think my favorite food is spaghetti for now πŸπŸ˜‹.

I have been buying stuffs on jumia since I was in secondary school. That’s over 7 years now.

So I am used to it plus I know stuffs like this could happen. So I am not discouraged in not buying things online. I just find it hard to patronize Social media vendors but Jumia. I trust them on return policy.

Wow you must really know how to cook Spaghetti right?

Yeah, the return policy of Jumia is something that makes them better than other online vendors, the reason I can't rely on that is because of how far their office is from my place, it would not be easy going through all that stress.

Yes, cooking spaghetti is my specialty actually, it's the only food I can eat over even when I'm sick, hehe

Personally, I don’t like buying things online, I’m always scared of something like this happening. I used to import goods from china a long time ago and obviously, it had to be an online transaction. Some things would meet my expectation and some things wouldn’t, and I don’t like disappointing clients, it saddens me deeply.

And you know, for somewhere that far, I can’t even return it or I will be ready to bear a loss that wouldn’t even match what I want to return. You are lucky they have a return policy. Next time, let me take you to the market my dear, and let’s drag price with that Igbo man while you check out your choice of Footwear physically

One can get really good stuffs online though, but then, you have to get prepared for the shock or if you are lucky enough, the satisfaction.

Wow. I never knew you used to import from china. I know about a site WISH that you can import things from there at cheap prices. you must have had quite some experiences with receiving goods that are subpar.

Babe!!! I love the idea of dragging prices. That sounds like fun πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚. I don’t have much of the skill of bargaining but would be interesting to watch you do that.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

sure dear, but point of correction, we won’t be β€˜bargaining’ , we would be β€˜dragging’ the price with the sellerπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

For example, if he says 9k for a shoe, we would tell him we go pay 2k5. πŸ˜πŸ€—

Yes, and when he agrees, we would bring it to 2k againπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜

Online people and there proplem.
I don't know why some can't get the exact thing he ordered,it's either the item is looking big when you get it, it's a micro size.
I have a friend who also prefers buying stuffs online,he says it's stress free since it will be delivered to him.
Thats how he ordered for a polo shirt when the shirt came it was looking so nylon like and wasn't even his size🀣🀣🀣.
You wouldn't want to know the plans he had for that shirt..🀣(na watin fit lazy people shall) he returned it anyway.

So for me I prefer to get a picture of that stuff anything it is, then go to a physical shop like what @creativepearl said I'll drag price till Igbo man go vex sell for me.

Honestly, that’s the best option for me too. Online transactions can be really cool and stress free, but those vendors need to do better with being honest. And till they work on that, na to continue buying things with my koro koro eyesπŸ˜‚

This is what discourages me from online shopping. Sometimes what is portrayed is very attractive and when it gets delivered to you it’s not as expected.

I didn’t know Jumia had a return policy so maybe that’s a good thing for those that are not satisfied what their orders.

The pepper soup really looks good πŸ˜‹πŸ€€. I can see you really enjoyed yourself.
