Trip on Vågsøy - 3/3 Kannesteinen [PL/EN]

A continuation of the previous two posts. On September 24th, during a business trip to the Vestlandet region, my colleagues and I took a short trip to the island of Vågsøy. The island lies on the open Norwegian Sea, which from there extends all the way to Iceland and Greenland. We visited several places on the island.

Kontynuacja poprzednich dwóch postów. 24 września, podczas wyjazdu służbowego w region Vestlandet, udaliśmy się z moimi współpracownikami na krótką wycieczkę na wyspę Vågsøy. Wyspa ta leży nad otwartym Morzem Norweskim, które z tego miejsca rozciąga się już aż do Islandii i Grennlandii. Odwiedzilliśmy kilka miejsc na wyspie.

The last attraction we visited on the island was an unusual rock formation called Kannesteinen. It looks somewhat like a mushroom, although it might also resemble a whale's tail or an hourglass. This shape was sculpted by thousands of years of sea waves. The literal translation of the Norwegian name "Kannesteinen" is "jar rock."

Ostatnią odwiedzoną przez nas atrakcją na wyspie była nietypowa formacja skalna o nazwie Kannesteinen. Wygląda ona nieco jak grzyb, choć może się kojarzyć też z ogonem wieloryba lub klepsydrą. Taki kształt nadało tej skale tysiące lat oddziaływania fal morskich. Dosłowne tłumaczenie norweskiej nazwy "Kannesteinen" to skała-dzban.
