Today I present the third and final part of the photos from May 18 in Oslo. The photos show Oslo Cathedral.

Jest to trzecia katedra w Oslo. Pierwsza powstała w XII wieku, około 1,5 kilometra w kierunku wschodnim. W 1632 roku po przesunięciu granic miasta postanowiono zbudować nową katedrę. Ta, po zbudowaniu w 1639 roku przetrwała 50 lat. Obecna katedra została zbudowana w jej miejsce w latach 1694-1697.

This is the third cathedral in Oslo. The first was built in the 12th century, about 1.5 kilometers to the east. In 1632, after the city limits were moved, it was decided to build a new cathedral. This one, after being built in 1639, survived for 50 years. The current cathedral was built in its place in 1694-1697.

Jest to kościół luterański, gdyż Norwegia od 1537 roku przeszła na ten odłam chrześcijaństwa. Na stronie katedry możemy jednak przeczytać, że "Members of all churches and denominations are welcome to join us for the celebration of the Eucharist". Msze odbywają się raz dziennie, we wszystkie dni tygodnia oprócz soboty, a otwarty jest codziennie od 10:00 do 16:00, z wyjątkiem piątku, gdy jest otwarty w godzinach wieczornych.

This is a Lutheran church, because Norway converted to this branch of Christianity in 1537. However, on the cathedral's website we can read that "Members of all churches and denominations are welcome to join us for the celebration of the Eucharist". Masses are held once a day, every day of the week except Saturday, and it is open every day from 10:00 to 16:00, except on Friday, when it is open in the evening.

W Oslo Domkirke odbywają się koronacje królewskie i śluby członków rodziny królewskiej. Ostatnie takie wydarzenie miało miejsce w 2001 roku, gdy książę Haakon Magnus wziął za żonę księżniczkę Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby.

The Oslo Domkirke is the venue for royal coronations and weddings, the last being in 2001, when Prince Haakon Magnus married Princess Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby.
