Sreten in the city of NIŠ
One sunny morning, I sat in the passenger seat of the car and started my journey to Nis. The engine roared softly, and we left my town. I looked out the window and felt that special restlessness in my stomach - the adventure was too long.
The road stretched like a long strip in front of us. On both sides, the landscapes alternated – villages where yards smelled of freshly cut grass, cornfields that stretched to the horizon, and hills that seemed to follow our car. Every now and then, we would come across signs for the next towns, and I counted the kilometers to Niš.
There was a pleasant atmosphere in the cabin - soft music was playing from the radio, and the conversation was occasionally interrupted by the hum of a car that would overtake us. I looked through the glass and thought how traveling by car is different from any other - the freedom is greater, and each stop can be a new opportunity for a short break and a smile.
As we passed through Aleksinac, my heart beat faster. I knew that Nis was getting closer. And indeed, soon a city appeared in the distance, and above it, as if welcoming us, appeared the Niš fortress. At that moment, I felt that I had not only arrived in a new city, but in a place where the past and the present merge into one, and where my new adventure begins.
