Hoy quiero contarles un poco sobre la experiencia de cubrir un evento importante, resulta que tengo muchos años siendo periodista, pero hace poco me dieron el cargo formalmente y ahora sí me toca salir a la calle sin ayuda de nadie, me toca crear la noticia y pasarla ya redactada para las redes sociales y el periódico de la Universidad del Zulia. Para mí, estas experiencias me llenan de ansiedad, pues ningún día es igual, uno es mejor que otro y eso es lo mejor, el día de ayer me tocó cubrir un magno evento de conmemoración del centenario del natalicio del ilustre científico venezolano, el Doctor Humberto Fernández Morán. Fue una experiencia emocionante y enriquecedora, desde el inicio, sentí la solemnidad y la importancia del momento, mientras autoridades, académicos y ciudadanos se unían para rendir homenaje a este destacado investigador.

For me, these experiences fill me with anxiety, because no day is the same, one is better than another and that is the best, yesterday I had to cover a great event commemorating the centenary of the birth of the illustrious Venezuelan scientist, Dr. Humberto Fernandez Moran. It was an exciting and enriching experience, from the beginning, I felt the solemnity and importance of the moment, while authorities, academics and citizens joined together to pay tribute to this outstanding researcher.
El Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán fue un eminente científico e investigador venezolano, y de mi tierra natal, Maracaibo, fue y es reconocido por su destacada labor en el campo de la ciencia y la tecnología, especialmente en el área de la física y la ingeniería biomédica, Fernández Morán realizó importantes contribuciones en el desarrollo de la resonancia magnética nuclear, lo que le valió el reconocimiento internacional, además, fue uno de los pioneros en la creación del microscopio electrónico y contribuyó significativamente al avance de la medicina con su trabajo en la investigación de tumores cerebrales.
Ocupando diversos cargos como investigador en varias instituciones científicas y académicas no solo en Venezuela, fundador del (IVIC) y director del laboratorio de Física del Plasma en La Universidad de los Andes en Mérida, perteneciendo a la Academia Nacional de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales de Venezuela, logrando numerosos reconocimientos por su labor, su legado perdura en la historia de la ciencia venezolana y su trabajo continúa siendo una gran fuente de inspiraciones para generaciones futuras.
Dr. Humberto Fernandez Moran was an eminent Venezuelan scientist and researcher, and from my homeland, Maracaibo, was and is recognized for his outstanding work in the field of science and technology, especially in the area of physics and biomedical engineering, Fernandez Moran made important contributions in the development of nuclear magnetic resonance, which earned him international recognition, in addition, he was one of the pioneers in the creation of the electron microscope and contributed significantly to the advancement of medicine with his work in the research of brain tumors.

El acto protocolar, donde se entregó la Orden Humberto Fernández, destacó el legado y la trayectoria del Doctor Fernández Morán, escuchar las palabras del presidente de la Comisión Jubilar del Centenario, el Doctor Betulio Chacín, quien además es amigo de mi papá desde hace años, resaltar la relevancia histórica del evento y la necesidad de promover la ciencia y la investigación en Venezuela, fue verdaderamente inspirador, la declaración del "Día de la Ciencia" en Zulia por parte del gobernador Manuel Rosales realzó aún más la importancia del trabajo de hombres y mujeres dedicados a la investigación.
