Game of thrones "lenses version" (Vintage Vs Modern) #Monomad challenge.
Hello everyone, today was a busy day for me i went to test the recent lens i added to my collection with other lenses i have already in my collection.
well i started first with Pentacon 50mm f1.8 i bought yesterday for 5 cents this lens surprised me actually especially in the close range, the minimum focusing distance of 0.33m makes it more a than a normal lens, it isn't sharp wide open at f1.8 you will notice the glow effect on the edges also around your subject, but this disadvantage is an advantage for cinematographers because this lens render a great images the contrast the colours the glow effect , the flares that controlled by multi coating appear smoothly and gives the image more beauty, the bokeh is from another univers it is swirly bokeh that make the scene looks dreamy. At f1.8 it render chromatic aberration light blue colour on the edges at f4 all the problems disappear and the lens give sharp clean images.
Recommended: absolutely.
Value price: for me 100/10 because i bought this lens for 5 cents for the overall market it is 9/10.
Bokeh: 10/10.
Sharpness wide open: 5/10
Built quality: 9/10.
Samyang 85mm f1.4 This lens will be always my favourite because of it i get into the photography world so fast i could translate my imagination visions into pictures, it is razer sharp even wide open at 1.4 , the nokeh it render as a modern lens is fantastic kinda swirly, my copy is the mark one so it suffer with chromatic aberration in highlighted situations but the mark 2 as I've seen in reviews could control it. The auto focus is good in photos but awful in videos, focus ring is so smooth and accurate.
Recommended: absolutely yes.
Value price: 10/10.
Bokeh: 10/10.
Sharpness wide open: 9/10
Built quality: 8/10.
Jupiter 37A 135mm f3.5 the diamond of my collection i just love this lens because i mixed between all what I've said about the lenses above, it is a sharp lens and there is no doubt it is portraits beast the sharpness and the bokeh, it gives a dramatic look with high contrast, the glass it isn't multi coated then when the light reflected it start rendering a weird flares most of the times it decreases the sharpness of the images but in normal lighting situation it is the beast.
Recommended: A big yes.
Value price: 10/10.
Bokeh: 10/10.
Sharpness wide open: 9/10
Built quality: 10/10 it is a tank than a lens drop it from the highest point you can reach and it will survive how? Nobody knows yet.
Bokeh rendering.
1- Jupiter 37A 135mm f3.5
2- Samyang 85mm f1.4 AF
