The nasturtium plant in its pot is doing well
Started some seeds around a year ago, and put two plants in this pot in the early spring. One was a bean plant and one was the nasturtium plant. Well it would seem the later is the dominant plant of the bunch. And it was not until late summer/autumn it really started growing fast. Now I can no longer see the pot it was planted in...haha
Amazing less than one year gets you all of this.. quite the vigorous plant.
It has started to climb up my gutter as well, not too worried. In a few weeks its going to die, with the freezing weather it will not survive. It is a warmer climate plant, so winters are not something it can handle.
But it has been a lot of fun growing this annual here, and seeing all its pretty flowers.
It produces two different colors, a orange and yellow flower.
Looks like something has taken a few bites from the leaves, but all in all its doing well.
I wonder if the seeds will fall and come up next year.. sometimes things like that happen.
And that pea vine I planted along with it in the early spring, its still alive. You can see a couple pods there..lol
Good to see hover flies hanging around, they should lay larva on the plant that feeds on other insects.
Wow, that looks like it is out of control! It reminds me of some of the ivy that I have in my backyard. We used to have it all around this one tree, but when we had the tree cut down it all kind of went away.

Yeah it kind of is, but luckily it will die back in a few weeks so I am not too worried about it.

After looking at the plant's growth, I feel there is no fall there, but fearing for the winter with the freezing cold when they will die! The soil seems very powerful, making them so healthy and faster to grow.

From what I have read deer do not like the peppery flavor of this plant. So maybe its worth a try.

Yep! They grow like bushes, and nasturtium leaves are known to cure sore throats when one eats them. The leaves have a "black peppery" taste, and the nasturtium also has other medicinal properties.

In any case, it is advisable to save some seeds in a jar or paper bag over winter and sow them in spring. This is because (in contrast to tomatoes) there is no guarantee that they will reproduce on their own.
Leaves and flowers are a must in every salad from now on! They are not only very healthy. They are also delicious!
I think I still have a few seeds I did not plant from last year.

Head's up, when a heavy frost is coming, pull it up green. Nasturtiums turn to black slime when frosted.. And yes, some of the seeds should reseed next year. That was part of how I ended up with trailing nasturtium all over the Big garden this year.
