Doe and fawn having a drink

I have been seeing a mother deer and its offspring roaming around in the last few weeks. It was taking a drink of the edge of the water when I got out my camera and finally got a few pictures. It has been a hot July month, so they come down and drink probably a few times a day. Looks like the baby is growing up, and soon should lose its spots.

A closer view of them. I cropped the image a bit so we can see them a little better. But I really like the first picture as it really captures the environment around them.

The fawn was probably born this year, its so mom is showing it around and getting it used to being on its own soon.

It is always such a treat getting to see the wild life.

I think the mother noticed me and went into the brush.

The baby quickly followed the mother.

Hehe it has to hop to get out of the water.

And just like that they are gone, disappearing into the wood line.

It's always awesome to see deer out in the wild. It's a real treat to see them just wandering, deer around here don't have the spots when they are young like the one's back east. I used to see those in southern Jersey. Beautiful animals, and some great camera shots!

I’ve only seen deer a few times, but never this close! Must’ve been such a magical moment. Nature really hits different when you slow down and notice the little things

What an incredible moment to see deer in the wild. It's very difficult to see wild animals like this here in my area. You're very lucky, my friend.

These pictures could actually tell a story.

I’ve always thought that the way animals look after their offspring is admirable.

Thank you for giving us a quick view of your world…
