A Moment of Peace with a Jasmine Bloom.

A few days back, I had to go to Dinajpur town on some urgent work. I was walking along street and suddenly saw a scene in front of a restaurant. By the door of the restaurant, there was a pot with a jasmine plant in it. But that one plant seemed to change the whole vibe.

The plant seemed to be well cared for. Its leaves were fresh and green, and several white jasmine flowers had bloomed on it. The tiny form of the flowers and their sweet fragrance lightened my mood immediately. In an urban area, that peaceful, fragrant moment felt as if a tiny slice of nature had reached out to me. I wanted to capture that moment. So I pulled out my phone and snapped a few pics of the plant.

To be honest, those pictures aren’t anything perfect. But they emotion emotional for me. Taking photos isn’t sometimes a matter of colors and framing. It’s a matter of capturing a moment.

Jasmine flowers are one of my favourite flowers. In my childhood, the air was filled with jasmine in my grandmother’s house every evening. This plant made me nostalgic about the old days. So photographing it seemed to hold more than just a visual memory — it appealed to my heart as well.
