In today's continuation, we have the longest day of all, because I wanted to finish the trip on the date I set and I planned the trip poorly from start. Let's see what I met and experienced.

V dnešním pokračování nás čeká nejdelší den ze všech, protože jsem chtěl cestu dokončit v termínu, který jsem si stanovil a špatně jsem si naplánoval cestu od začátku. Pojďme se podívat co jsem tedy potkal a zažil.

Due to the long day ahead of me, I had to get up quite early in the morning to get going as early as possible. This allowed me to watch the sunrise behind the village of Bujesily, which at first looked quite ordinary, but eventually took on an interesting color.

Díky dlouhému dni který na mě čekal. Jsem musel vstávat poměrně dlouho před východem slunce. Abych vyrazil co nejdříve to bude možné. To mi umožnilo sledovat východ slunce za obcí Bujesily, který nejprve vypadal dost běžně, ale nakonec se zajímavě vybarvil.

In another village on my way, I crossed the Berounka River for the last time. But here another photographic obstacle awaited me. A heron in the river hunting for its breakfast.

V další vesnici, která ležela na mojí cestě jsem naposledy překonal řeku Berounku. Ale zde mě čekala další fotografická překážka. Volavka lovící v řece svojí snídani.

I continued along the Berounka River for a while to reach the confluence with another river that has a unique character. The Střela River is cut into a deep valley for most of its course.

Ještě chvíli jsem pokračoval po břehu Berounky, abych se dostal k soutoku s další říčkou, která má osobitý charakter. Řeka Střela je na většině svého toku zaříznutá do hlubokého údolí.

Which in the middle of summer reduced my possibilities of movement and photography, because the valley is overgrown with lush vegetation. At least I know that I have to go to this river early in the spring, because I have been planning a trip around this river for several years.

Což mi uprostřed léta snižovalo možnosti pohybu i focení, protože údolí je zarostlé bujnou vegetací. Tak alespoň vím, že se na tuto řeku musím vydat brzo na jaře, jelikož cestu kolem této řeky mám v plánu již několik let.

I gradually walked around the river to the town of Plasy, where one of the largest Baroque monasteries in the Pilsen region is located. I didn't have time to explore it, because I still had a long 30 kilometers to go to my final destination.

Postupně jsem kolem řeky došel až do městečka Plasy, kde leží jeden z největších barokních klášterů v Plzeňském kraji. Na prohlídku jsem neměl čas, protože mě čekalo ještě dlouhých 30 kilometrů do mého cíle.

In Plasy I left the Via Czechia - central trail, which continues further along the Střela River. And I started the hunt for the shortest possible distance to the final destination. The Pilsen region is specific in that there are many Baroque buildings. Mainly former yards. As in the case of nearby Lomany.

V Plasích jsem se odpojil od stezky Via Czechia - centrální, která pokračuje dále po toku řeky Střely. A zahájil jsem hon na co nejkratší možnou vzdálenost do finální destinace. Plzeňský kraj je specifický tím, že je zde hodně barokních budov. Především bývalých dvorů. Jako v případě nedalekých Loman.

A short walk above the village lies the Lomany oak, which was 700 years old and fell during a big storm in 2018. Its trunk was left here as a monument.

Kousíček nad vesnicí leží doslova Lomanský dub, který byl 700 let starý a v roce 2018 při velké bouři padl. Jako památka zde byl ponechán jeho kmen.

The disadvantage of the shortest possible route is that I had to walk on the road quite often. Fortunately, there was no traffic on the lower grades of the roads, as it was a public holiday and most people were enjoying their day off. So I could afford to shorten my journey via the agricultural cooperative in the village of Hvozd. As the name of the village suggests, a long journey through deep forests awaited me. Because in Czech, hvozd means deep and large forest.

Nevýhoda nejkratší možné cesty je, že jsem musel dost často jít po silnici. Naštěstí nebyl na nižších třídách silnic žádný provoz, protože byl státní svátek a většina lidí si užívala volna. Takže jsem si mohl dovolit si zkrátit cestu přes zemědělské družstvo v obci Hvozd. Podle jména vesnice mě čekala dlouhá cesta skrze hluboké lesy.

Which was most of my journey to my destination. Some of the paths I chose were quite a challenge, as they hadn't been used for a long time and I had to climb over fallen trees or wade through tall nettles overgrown with blackberries. I reached my destination in Úterý just before sunset. I found friends I hadn't seen in years and settled in with them.

Což byla většina mojí cesty až do cílové destinace. Některé mnou zvolené cesty byla docela výzva, protože nebyly dlouho používané a tak jsem musel přelézat přes popadané stromy, nebo se brodit vysokými kopřivami prorostlé ostružinami. Do cílové destinace v Úterý jsem došel těsně před západem slunce. Našel jsem přátelé, které jsem neviděl několik let a zabydlel jsem se u nich.

I didn't take any pictures of the race itself, which is what I actually came here for, and I was more of a ordinary spectator. I didn't even take any pictures of the city, because wherever I went I was stopped by an old friend, so I focused more on connecting with people I hadn't seen in years.

Focení samotného závodu, kvůli kterému jsem sem vlastně vyrazil, jsem se vůbec nevěnoval a spíše jsem si ho konečně užíval jako běžný divák. Dokonce i na focení města nedošlo, protože kamkoliv jsem vyrazil, byl jsem zastaven nějakým starým známým, tak jsem se více věnoval kontaktu s lidmi, které jsem neviděl leta.

At the end, I have to say that this experiment of getting to Úterý with the start of the journey on Tuesday was quite successful. It was more demanding than I expected, but that was to be expected thanks to my lack of planning in advance. In total, I walked 157.9 kilometers in 3 and a half days, thanks to which I set a new personal record for the distance traveled. Which was completely unimaginable for many people I spoke to and they did not want to believe that I walked there almost from Prague. Nakonec musím říci, že tento experiment dostat se do Úterý se začátkem cesty v úterý se docela vydařil. Bylo to sice náročnější než jsem předpokládal, ale to dalo čekat díky mému neplánování předem. Celkově jsem ušel 157.9 kilometru za 3 a půl dne, díky čemuž jsem si stanovil nový osobní rekord v ujité vzdálenosti. Což bylo pro mnoho lidí se kterými jsem mluvil naprosto nepředstavitelné a nechtěli mi věřit, že jsem přišel pěšky skoro z Prahy. Na viděnou příště u dalšího dobrodružství co jsem v roce 2024 podnikl a nestihl se s Vámi o ně podělit.
