Jan Hus Trail - Skryjská jezírka to Kralovice (CZ) / Day 4

I'm here again with another continuation of the notes from the travels in the footsteps of Jan Hus from Prague to Constance. This time we will look at the stage between Skryjská jezírka and the town of Kralovice. We will traditionally look into history and also visit an interesting landscape. Let's go through it all.

Jsem tu opět s dalším pokračováním zápisků z cest ve stopách Jana Husa z Prahy do Kostnice. Tentokráte se podíváme na etapu mezi Skryjskými jezírky a městem Kralovice. Tradičně nahlédneme do historie a také navštívíme zajímavou krajinu. Pojďme si to celé projít.

To this day, for the first time, I was awakened by nature and its sounds. And it was in time for sunrise, so I wasn't caught in the act by any unsuspecting tourists. The path to the Skryjská jezírka is quite difficult because you have to overcome a small rock and on both sides of the approach.

Do tohoto dne se jsem se poprvé nechal probudit přírodou a jejími zvuky. A bylo to včas před východem slunce. Takže jsem nebyl přistižen při svém počínání žádným nečekaným turistou. Cesta ke Skryjským jezírkům je poměrně náročná protože se musí překonat malá skalka a obou stranách přístupu.

First I went around the Zbirožský potok (Zbiroh brook) to later start climbing up to the first village I had to pass that day. In Čilá, as this village is called, posters hung on garden fences. These posters are against the establishment of the Křivoklát National Park. Currently, the area is a protected landscape area. The state and various organizations want to further increase nature protection, but the problem is that a large number of people live in this area and farm here. They are quite often excluded from the discussion, even though it directly affects them.

Nejprve jsem šel kolem Zbirožského potoka, abych později začal stoupat k první vesnici, kterou jsem ten den musel projít. V Čilá jak se tato vesnice jmenuje, viseli na plotech zahrad plakáty. Tyto plakáty jsou nesouhlasem s založením Národního parku Křivoklátsko. V současné době je oblast Chráněnou krajinou oblastí. Stát a různé organizace chtějí ještě zvýšit ochranu přírody, ale problém je, že v této oblasti žije velké množství lidí, kteří zde hospodaří a ti jsou z diskuze dost často vyloučeni, přesto že se jich to přímo týká.

From Čilá I continued along the road to another village called Hradiště. Where you can see the typical architecture of the area around the Berounka river. There is also a memorial to the victims of the First World War. And as you can see, the war had a big impact on this area, because even in such a small village there were a lot of victims who died somewhere on the eastern front.

Z Čilé jsem jsem pokračoval po silnici k další vesnici jménem Hradiště. Kde je k vidění typická architektura pro oblast kolem řeky Berounky. Je zde k vidění i památník obětí z První světové války. A jak je vidět, válka měla na tuto oblast velký dopad, protože i v takto malé vesnici bylo spousta obětí, které zahynuli kdesi na východní frontě.

On the way to the next village, I came across a cross with Jesus without legs in the forest. How typical for the year 1917 when the war was going on and many soldiers lost their legs.

Cestou k další vesnici jsem narazil v lese na kříž s Ježíšem bez nohou. Jak typické pro rok 1917 kdy probíhala válka a spousta vojáků přišla právě o nohy.

At the edge of another village, I stopped for a moment on a bench by the river. And I was soaking up the peaceful morning atmosphere.

Na okraji další vesnice jsem se na chvilku zastavil na lavičce u řeky. A nasával poklidnou ranní atmosféru.

After resting, all that was left was to cross the river on the bridge and see each other for the next adventure.

Po odpočinku nezbývalo než překonat řeku po mostě a vydat se vstříc dalšímu dobrodružství.

Because shortly after crossing the river, I entered the valley around the Javornice river, where a completely different landscape awaited me than what I had walked through so far. I had to cross the river on wooden footbridges. Walk around the hazel groves or fight mosquitoes.

Jelikož jsem kousek po překonání řeky vstoupil do údolí kolem říčky Javornice, kde mě čekala naprosto rozdílná krajina než jsem doposud procházel. Musel jsem překonávat říčku po dřevených lávkách. Procházet kolem lískových porostů, nebo bojovat s komáry.

Then I got to a small cascade where I stopped for a while. And tried to make some interesting photos here.

Než jsem se dostal k malé kaskádě kde jsem se na chvíli zastavil a zkusil zde vytvořit nějaké zajímavé fotografie.

Right next to the cascade, I was attracted by a lying dead tree, which was already a source of life for its followers.

Hned vedle kaskády mě zaujal ležící mrtvý strom, který byl již zdrojem života pro další svoje následovníky.

About halfway up the valley, I came across a former mill that had been converted into a tramping dwellings a long time ago. There were several buildings, some of which were closed. But a few were open and available for overnight stays.

Přibližně v polovině celého údolí jsem narazil na bývalý mlýn, který byl asi před dlouhou dobou přeměněn na trampská obydlí. Bylo zde několik budov, z nichž některé byly uzavřeny, ale pár jich bylo otevřených a k dispozici k přespání.

I continued further along the valley around Javornice until I reached a place called Máchův mlýn. This place was rebuilt in the 60s or 70s of the 20th century into an accommodation facility. So there are also quite a few artifacts from this time. Such as swings, which were removed almost everywhere in the country for safety reasons.

Pokračoval jsem dále údolím kolem Javornice, až jsem došel k místu s názvem Máchův mlýn. Toto místo bylo přestavěno v 60, nebo 70. letech 20 století na ubytovací zařízení. Takže je zde i dost artefaktů z této doby. Jako například houpačky, které byly skoro všude po republice odstaněny z důvodu bezpečnosti.

From Máchův mlýn it was already a short distance to the next castle that I met along the way. The castle is called Krakovec and is located in the village of the same name. An interesting feature of this castle is that Jan Hus used to stay here and go out from the castle to preach in the surrounding villages. That is why there is a statue of Jan Hus under the castle.

Od Máchova mlýna to bylo již kousek k dalšímu hradu, který jsem po cestě potkal. Hrad se jmenuje Krakovec a leží ve stejnojmenné obci. Zajímavostí tohoto hradu je, že zde pobýval Jan Hus a vyrážel z hradu kázat do okolních obcí. Proto je pod hradem umístěna socha Jana Husa.

The castle was built in 1381-1383 and then rebuilt again many times. The place was sought after by filmmakers and several children's fairy tales such as Ať žijí duchové (Long Live Ghosts!) or Princ a Večernice (The Prince and the Evening Star) were film here.

Hrad byl postaven v letech 1381-1383 a poté několikrát přestavěn. Místo bylo vyhledáváno filmaři a bylo zde natečeno několik pohádek pro děti jako Ať žijí duchové, nebo Princ a Večernice.

After leaving the castle, I set off again, but the weather started to get complicated and it started to rain. My salvation was when the rain was the strongest, I found a small shelter next to the trail that someone had created and used for natural rituals.

Po opuštění hradu jsem se vydal opět na cestu, ale počasí se začalo komplikovat a začalo pršet. Mojí záchranou bylo když byl déšť nejsilnější nalezl jsem vedle stezky malý přístřešek, který zde někdo vytvořil a využíval k přírodním rituálům.

As soon as the rain stopped, I set off again towards the town called Kožlany. Where I visited a grocery store and also a commemorative plaque on the house where the first foreign minister and second Czechoslovak president Edvard Beneš was born.

Jakmile déšť ustal vydal jsem se opět na cestu směrem k městečku s názvem Kožlany. Kde jsem navštívil obchod s potravinami a také pamětní desku na domě kde se narodil první ministr zahraničí a druhý Československý prezident Edvard Beneš.

From Kožlany I continued through the woods towards Kralovice. On the way, I stopped for a moment in a place called Hlubenov, where a huge Baroque courtyard was built in 1730-1734 by the architect Jan Blažej Santini.

Z Kožlan jsem pokračoval dále přes lesy směr Kralovice. Cestou jsem se na chvíli zastavil v místě zvaném Hlubenov, kde byl obrovský Barokní dvůr postavený v letech 1730-1734 architektem Janem Blažejem Santinim.

Since I had almost 40 kilometers in my legs again, I started looking for a place to sleep in the nearby forest. It was necessary to find a proper place, as the weather forecast for the night was not favorable and a lot of thunderstorms were predicted.

A jelikož jsem měl v nohách opět skoro 40 kilometrů, začal jsem hledat místo na spaní v nedalekém lese. Bylo třeba najít pořádné místo, protože předpověď počasí na noc nebyla nijak příznivá a bylo předpovídáno velké množství bouřek.
